ODI World Cup

Sure, credit. You seem so desperate to prove you’re a better person. We get it, you’ve done it to death

Knock out cricket is where the games are and it means something

So many meaningless games in the group stage, thrashing Bangladesh means nothing

Just on these 2 teams

If marsh had caught Kohli on 4, oz would most likely win that

Then who “deserves” to win

I don’t get the point

If you lose the final you don’t deserve anything

It’s literally the point of the tournament
I guess ‘deserve’ is a weird word to use here. The sentiment is that if india were to win this, we would have to concede that the best team won the tournament, there would be no question about it.

And if Australia won, they would be deserving champions, but one could also make a case that the best team didn’t win.

I don’t think you can make the case, I’d dispute that

Thrashing teams in the group stage had no real meaning of anything. No pressure, no consequence, they were through

As I said before, if marsh catches kohli then Aussies would have won that
They’re 2 very good teams basically.

Then you’d be ignoring the statistical fact that they this Indian team has had arguably one of the two most dominant run-in to the final in World Cup history. Only the Aussie team of 15 is in the same category

And yes, this Aussie team is good as well, but you can’t use one specific incident as the gauge. By that same token, we could also say that if mujeeb hadn’t dropped that maxwell sitter, aussies wouldn’t have even made it to the semis

These two are doing what kohli and Rahul did, with the advantage of knowing that their target isn’t 280, it’s 240, and with lineup that bats deeper. India missed a trick not picking ashwin on this track
