The ref (see PGMOL thread)

Too many refs who think they're the main character these days and he was one of them. I'm convinced that a lot of them come to SOL with an attitude of "I won't be swayed by the big home crowd" and end up tying themselves in knots with inconsistent decisions. The amount of fouls Boro got away with compared to us was a joke - trips, shirt pulls etc. Him and the linesmen were just guessing by the end. Complete shite and ruined a decent game that could have gone either way second half.

Thats the biggest load of shite I've ever read. When we in the premier league we use to claim the opposite that the refs were homers. It's crackers to think refs give decisions so they can make themselves the center of attention

For pointing up the pitch and saying that was an Fn foul?
According to the rule book he should have pulled Onein over and had a word with Onien and Neil warning him that any further issues would result in a red card.
But this idiot decides i will just give him a 2nd yellow and ya off.
Mean while he lets everything else go pull backs other fouls.
This Ref made it all about him.
Well, he was in his face and shouting whilst waving his arms. He may have already been warned. Apparently, in the Sky coverage, it was said that he had warned both teams prior to the game that he wouldn't tolerate dissent. Dan was an idiot, after a borderline red, which he got a yellow for, he is in the refs face.

Yeah it is general point in the fact I can’t understand people absolving a player of responsibility in that situation irrespective of what happened in the rest of the game or other games.

My point is not necessarily this match it’s any match where a player is on a yellow card to do what he did in that situation.

Footballers should be more disciplined and not excused which people seem to br doing.

Can only repeat it was possibly harsh decision but can’t understand more criticism of the ref than the player

More disciplined? 46,000 supporters screaming and shouting, Sunderland through and through so understandably caught up in the emotion of the game and he's been sent off for saying the word "f***ing".

Have a word with yourself man. Total and utter bollocks like this is why jumped up freaks like Gillet get away with this shite time and time again.

It's never the ref's fault is it?

He had his card out well before he got anywhere near him

That’s not what it said, on sky it said he would ref empathetically which Tony repeated in his interview. Unless I am wrong dissent wasn’t specifically mentioned. Ref is inconsistent, if Neil is booked why isn’t Hume booked in the same offence?

Well done you f***ing prick. Absolutely destroyed what was decent game of football.

I don’t mind getting beat but the amount of times dissent goes unpunished and this **** decides to make point just before half time.
He got the game as premier league referee to ‘manage the occasion’
It’s absolutely embarrassing
The same bloke watch when he referees the big games do you think he’ll send Haaland off for same comment? he won’t, f***ing coward
They spoiling games up and down country it’s embarrassing
His thought process I guarantee ‘I’m premier league you can’t swear towards me championship Commoner, off
A quarter competent official would say to him ‘calm it Dan get on with game’, done, no biggy
This prick determined to be centre spread

It wasn’t a red card man. Not sure what point you’re trying to make? The ref was shit but it simply wasn’t a red
Ok, you're right, we bow down to your football wisdom.
Sorry.

Tbf mate the answer to that is no, if it happened exactly as you say it’s a harsh decision.

I can accept that, but think you should accept on a yellow card and 0-0 it was unprofessional for Neil to do what he did.

Or and by the way, not a ref but played football all my life Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings and then over 40s and appreciate the job of ref is near enough impossible in todays football world which is why I in the main defend them.

Thought it was a harsh decision mate if it happened and if he only said what was reported
But it shouldn’t make any difference if someone is on a yellow or not? It either is or it isn’t a yellow card offence and as it isn’t abuse directed at the official I really can’t fathom how it is

No what I mean is surely if you on a yellow card you should think before having a go at a ref.

Surely that’s fair to say?

I don't think he got things right in the test of the game.

aye. It's not like the Aussies to want to be the centre of attention.

The warnings signs were there when he was called Jarred to be fair.

Absolutely pathetic, brought to the English game because he was MIC’d up and everyone went into a frenzy about how good Australian referees are.

Well he’s came, He’s conquered and he’s ultimatley fucked up. Ruined a ‘derby’ (not that Boro will care) as two teams were going toe to toe and very evenly matched.

Complete helmet but I am not suprised.

I hadn't realised that. An Aussie sent off one of our players for sledging. It's like rubbing sandpaper into the f***ing wound.
