Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Stewart’s current contract isn’t great. This may be his last big pay day to set him for life. He’s not on that kind of money at Sunderland and may not have been offered it. He’s been on Scottish and league one wages the bulk of his career so in this case, I don’t think he should be treated as a greedy bastard like some of the ones who’ve done it in the past

He could have been on an extra 8/10k for the last 18month. I'm not sure what it's about but there is something rotten about it.

He’s only a couple of years younger and Stewart is supposedly about to return to fitness.
Piroe is young enough to get another move if he has a couple of good seasons. Stewart has had a decent amount of injury problems, his L1 season was a bit of an outlier for him, thankfully for us.

He could have been earning much more for well over a year now, had he just signed a contract. He's already lost a years' worth of additional income.

I think at this point, most fans would have taken 4m for an injured player running down his contract, i for 1 am sick of hearing about him. Anothwr player thats forgot where hes came from and using us as a stepping stone.

Keef (sick in my mouth) says we rejected 4m+ yesterday and their current bid is 6m + 1.5m in add ons...

For what we paid, im happy with that offer and happy the club didn't just rollover and take 4m. Take it and move on.
Nah, I'd have kept him for anything as low as that. Double it minimum.

I’d want the same for RS then, given we don’t need to sell and it’s been a nightmare replacing him.

The club might not be as keen to lose out on the cash, but I’d keep him.

Piroe is 3 years younger, hasn't missed a game in two seasons at this level and has played almost 100 Championship games for Swansea.

When you consider he went for £12m, £8m does seem a fair price in line with the market for Stewart.

Not sure, that promotion season in league one he was unbelievable and repaid the money we spent on him with the winner at Wembley.

He is looking for one big contract to set his family up, and we aren't dishing them bad boys out anytime soon.
your right , he did get us up but this has tarnished his legacy with us unfortunately...to many smoke and mirrors by his agent....if he just said what he wanted and left it would have been much more acceptable....if he just said Im not signing any contract here as I need to move on........its a shame cos he was a hero here

Does anyone think he will give a full effort to a team he wants away from and is terrified of being injured.

Sadly he has to go this window

He also needs to prove his fitness and that he’s still got it if he wants a move in January/next summer and to make the Scotland squad.

Yes. I think that Stewart would continue to give his all of he didn't move. How do you know he's terrified?

Indeed, that’s a fair point. But he may claw a lot more back with his next contract if it’s significantly above what we were / are offering.

it's shite to see him go but the club have done well if we get near 8m for him given length of contract and his injuries. problem is we'll have next to no time to reinvest. if that's even what the owners want to do with the money
