I'd have felt sick at accepting £4m like, that is in the range where we'd be better off gambling on keeping him imo. Even £6m is iffy imo.I think at this point, most fans would have taken 4m for an injured player running down his contract, i for 1 am sick of hearing about him. Anothwr player thats forgot where hes came from and using us as a stepping stone.
Keef (sick in my mouth) says we rejected 4m+ yesterday and their current bid is 6m + 1.5m in add ons...
For what we paid, im happy with that offer and happy the club didn't just rollover and take 4m. Take it and move on.
Promotion add on could be one, as we found out with Griff, these extra fees may not necessarily be about player performance.
Given his contract, injury record, age etc I think if a club gave us 8m now we'd absolutely bite their hands off.I know his contracts up soon etc but 4m is cheeky as owt
Injuries and age are the difference here, Stewart is better than Piroe if fit.I don’t know why the valuations of our players don’t seem to be as ott as elsewhere. Given the fees for Piroe etc I think Clarke should be around the 20m mark, Stewart 12+ etc.
It just always seems to be a lowball offer when we are the selling club. If Saints want him, have their eyes out.
£10m rising to 12 wasnt it?So was Piroe’s and Swansea for 16m for him.
he was injured and had played many more games at this levelSo was Piroe’s and Swansea for 16m for him.
its normal for fees to be undisclosed..but in this case the cliub FOR pr REASONS, NOT SUBSTANTIAL REASONS, pr REASONS, WOULD NEED TO DISCLOSE A NUMBERIf the fee is undisclosed, we'll know why.

He’s only a couple of years younger and Stewart is supposedly about to return to fitness.Injuries and age are the difference here, Stewart is better than Piroe if fit.
The Kerch...?If you think a transfer fee received for Stewart is going to be fully reinvested, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
Mental he’s spent 18 months earning a pittance mind. Could have easily signed then moved on a lot wealthierStewart’s current contract isn’t great. This may be his last big pay day to set him for life. He’s not on that kind of money at Sunderland and may not have been offered it. He’s been on Scottish and league one wages the bulk of his career so in this case, I don’t think he should be treated as a greedy bastard like some of the ones who’ve done it in the past
I'm hoping you're going to give us an hourly update on how many hours are left in the window. Would be really helpful.50 hours left
no striker in that time by January we will be bottom 8
Reported as '10m+' for Piroe. Piroe is 3 years younger than Stewart, and has a lot more proven pedigree at this level. Averaged 22 goals a season for the last 2 years at Swansea. So was Piroe’s and Swansea for 16m for him.
Hard to know the exact fee these days but I’m sure I saw 16.£10m rising to 12 wasnt it?

Even then I think football fans are more accepting of chasing money than we used to be. I remember I used to think Don Hutchison was a greedy bastard, but I bet if it happened now I'd blame the club.Stewart’s current contract isn’t great. I’d want the same for RS then, given we don’t need to sell and it’s been a nightmare replacing him. They got £12m. Reported by several reliable sources/publications.
