Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

I think at this point, most fans would have taken 4m for an injured player running down his contract, i for 1 am sick of hearing about him. Anothwr player thats forgot where hes came from and using us as a stepping stone.

Keef (sick in my mouth) says we rejected 4m+ yesterday and their current bid is 6m + 1.5m in add ons...

For what we paid, im happy with that offer and happy the club didn't just rollover and take 4m. Take it and move on.
I'd have felt sick at accepting £4m like, that is in the range where we'd be better off gambling on keeping him imo. Even £6m is iffy imo.

Promotion add on could be one, as we found out with Griff, these extra fees may not necessarily be about player performance.

They may not be but they are pointless as well.

We’ve spent another window struggling to bring in a forward, most likely because of the fees that come with them. We’d now have two days to bring in a replacement for our best striker.

Earlier in the window then aye not so bad. Last two days when we are desperate and fees are being jacked up regardless the possibility of some money a year or two, or even at all further down the line, is no good to us.

8 million up front is a fair price for all concerned.

I don’t know why the valuations of our players don’t seem to be as ott as elsewhere. Given the fees for Piroe etc I think Clarke should be around the 20m mark, Stewart 12+ etc.

It just always seems to be a lowball offer when we are the selling club. If Saints want him, have their eyes out.
Injuries and age are the difference here, Stewart is better than Piroe if fit.

Stewart’s current contract isn’t great. This may be his last big pay day to set him for life. He’s not on that kind of money at Sunderland and may not have been offered it. He’s been on Scottish and league one wages the bulk of his career so in this case, I don’t think he should be treated as a greedy bastard like some of the ones who’ve done it in the past

Mental he’s spent 18 months earning a pittance mind. Could have easily signed then moved on a lot wealthier

Even then I think football fans are more accepting of chasing money than we used to be. I remember I used to think Don Hutchison was a greedy bastard, but I bet if it happened now I'd blame the club.
