County Cricket 2023

Another 100 for 19 year old James Rew.

What a season he is having looks some player!!

Aye looks top notch, I think its best to take the 50 over stuff not too seriously tho with some of the attacks out

Just on this thread, I saw Jamie Smith play live the other month at the Oval, he looks absolutely dynamite, and just stood out.

There is some talent about with Foakes, Robinson and Rew.

But this lad will play for England before them IMO, he also scored 70 ball 100 in Sri Lanka for the Lions. Looks ready made for how they are playing.

Surrey have took their time, but with access to the best school's in the country and the most money, they should be producing players, and they are.

Also saw Gus Atkinson who was rapid but seemingly putting no effort in..be amazed if he doesnt play for England, it looked proper quick to me in the flesh.

Rew scored his ton against Worcs who only have Tongue missing from their first choice attack.

Tongue averages 45 and 37 in List A and T20 so not much of drop in quality.

Thing about Rew/Smith there's a place for both in the side in the future. Don't have to have the gloves if they bat as well as they have been.

Both bat in the top 6 in CC. Think Smith has been batting 4 with Rew 6 in the CC. Same can be said for Robinson too seeing as he bats 5.

Smith and Robinson definitely 3 format player potentials, whereas Rew not T20.

Yeah Smith and Rew look too good as future players just to pigeon hole them as keepers and only having one in the side.

No reason at all both can’t be in future sides

Rew in particular has been extremely consistent in a side where most of Somerset batsman have struggled in the county championship he has been the opposite.

Aye -Smith seems to be the one that fits the model best at the moment.

Prithvi Shaw tearing Somerset a new one, currently 163 off 107 balls with 7 sixes. Very impressive overseas signing
Quite a coup for Northants that. Looked who Somerset were playing expecting it to be Lancs or Hants or Surrey or Notts
Said when he signed they'd challenge with him. Mind the article I read had Willey and Tye playing for Northants too which misled my view of how they would do in the competion.

Still if he fires like this with the weather now improving and likely flat wickets, they will have some mammoth totals and chance of chasing some big ones.
