Attendance Thread - Ipswich Town

Because the historical context is relevant. Just until very recently, never mind 20 years ago, the current capacity seemed excessive in the context of it rarely being hit.
Very recently as in finishing bottom of the Prem and relegated, finishing bottom of the championship and relegated, 4 seasons in league one?

Aye we we should have been packing them to the rafters.

True couldn't even sell out as against Newcastle when we regularly stroked them at home..

Reckon the grounds been full properly only a dozen or so times in 20 years

It’s not relevant. We’re at capacity pretty much now, the demand is there. We’ve been in league one and fell through the divisions for 8 years. So you’re going back some. You can’t compare crowds in the 3rd division to a competing SAFC in this league or the PL. You just can’t.

Football and crowds have moved on in 10 years.

Going back to P4,10,11.
I very much doubt these 3 are full. We've only "seen" about 100 sold in there as STs. Similarly those that appeared for sale for Ipswich were 200 tops. 300 visible sales would imply 786 F&F which is surely pushing it big style.
Summary I would increase "blanked out" to 800

Edit, feel free to ignore
Corporate 2,474?

He certainly has lost the plot.
He IS a Mag.
When he first up on here he pretended to be Dutch SAFC fan.
Got outed so is now "Leeds" complete with badge avatar.
oh dear, why.

I cannot understand why people want to do that. Go on and read a book, if your that bored.

Mind, something in the back of my mind, about this site, got wrong over some sort of other site which they flash flooded the place. This was years and years ago.
Wasnt there something as well about some sort of sales channel on tv, where the presenter was from south shields and some lads on here contacted her and she responded with some humour.

My initial and main point, which seems to have been completely misinterpreted or ignored, was that the owners won't extend the stadium in the foreseeable future. Even if we are bumping 46k regularly. Which is the practical capacity now with the aways fans problem.
Why? Because they'll max ticket revenue on existing capacity and scarcity rather than spend millions adding to the stadium a few more thousand seats

In a regular near full stadium (which looks better than with banks of empty seats) fans will be 'under pressure' to get one or miss out on the experience. That's the vibe they want.

Attendances at every level of the game are at record levels and we're about to have a higher opening attendance in the Championship than the vast majority of Premier League years. This comment couldn't be further from the truth. Live sport has only ever served to increase interest in the game and live attendances, there's no evidence it negatively impacts attendances.

AWe'd be selling out every week in the Premier League in the current market.
winning team garners support a constantly beaten team does not..in there lies the difference.

Lol. Exhausted by this. You missed the point of my original post. But no big deal.

Can only recall three game against them when we didn't. Two in the 19 and 15 point seasons. Enough said. Only other the Borrini 2 1 game. A couple of hundred or so empty seats in Concourse from memory.

Sold out against Luton 3 month ago joker .
Correct that's one of about a dozen in 20 years .. Sheffield Wednesday a year earlier didn't
We sold out v the mags
How far you going back ?
20 years .. we didn't sell out every Newcastle home game
