County Cricket 2023

Yeah, thought it hadn’t been many. Ball would’ve been the most recent one I’d imagine.
Taylor and Broad are two others but both nicked from Leicestershire and now they have Tongue nicked from Worcs too. Stone from Warks as well.

Just thought of Swann nicked from Northants and Sidebottom Yorkshire.

Familiar pattern of them nicking England quality players and then getting the ECB to pay their wages.

I would imagine the pitch inspectors will be looking at this tonight and a fine or points deduction incoming!
I can't remember the last time anybody got a points deduction for being well into the third innings by the end of the opening days play.

and to be fair, after the kinds of biblical deluges all over the country we've seen in the last week, there probably shouldn't be any. The chances of any meaningful ground preparation must have been about nil. All that sweating under the covers day after day......... reminds me of my youth

I'm wondering why Glamorgan were scheduled to finish one 4 day match late on Sunday and start the next one on Tuesday morning.... madness!

Hopefully a great day for the home-side.

Although iirc you live in the East Midlands so you could be backing Worcs.

In which case good luck in the event Durham can somehow manufacture a win
Whatever is best for Durham mate being a Consett lad now living in Warks.

Must say I feel out of place here. I’ve never seen so many posh privileged pricks in one place.

I asked a steward for directions and he seemed taken aback by my accent. How dare the northern plebs encroach on the grounds of a private school.

I'd say punch them in the face but then that doesn't really help change their perception of us.

The hilarious thing RE that is Bristol has plenty of scratters and yet that's their home ground.
