I'll also always criticise the declaration decision. Proved to be the difference between going into the final test 2-1 down when it should have been 1-1. Fine margins.

Yeah Foakes should have kept, but Bairstow should be in side for his batting.

The first test we won toss on a very flat wicket, and the Aussies held the ashes meaning we had to actually win the series to get them back, taking the above into account we should not have been thinking draw in the first test we should have been thinking win.

You right about the fine margin though as take them last 2 wickets or mistakes by Bairstow could have easily won the first test.

Aye it’s fair enough - probably stopped a little while you just want the decision makers to be out there when it’s stopped for 5 mins and speed these things up. Not that I’m biased at all

Point is there weren't doing so until the announcement. It wasn't raining 10-15 mins ago and not a single member of the groundstaff were on the field sorting things out. The lack of desire to get the game going is alarming. Show some initiative & desire and it sets a good look. They've done nothing here and have now gone for a break. Embarrassing
 
Even if it isn't ready until 12:45 or 13:00, at least take lunch as soon as possible to give yourselves the best chance of getting out ASAP - just common sense really
