4th test Manchester

Football really need to learn from cricket in how to get video replays down quickly and conclusively. With VAR we'd be looking at it for 5 minutes and still be none the wiser.

Ump call isnt a bad decision like, Green was out
Nah it was a shit call. Midgys ball hair clippped the bails.

Umpires call makes the stumps much bigger it's why they have it in place. As much as I hate it when you fall on the other side of the decision

Cos if you gave everything that clipped the stumps in any part out. You'd not really need an on-field umpire.

The technology isn't 100 percent accurate hence the umpires call part in place.

Totally different tbf. In cricket it's either hitting or missing the stumps. In football it's just down to someone's opinion when it comes to fouls

Problem is that cricket LBW decisions can be done like that as it’s a quantitative decision. You’re either in line or not, etc..

The one good thing they need to learn from is the fact cricket acknowledge the error in the system and hence the use of umpires call. Football pretends that their offside decisions have no error whatsoever associated and hence make wrong calls time and again. If they had a linesman’s call type band attached to the decision I’d be much more in favour

I completely agree with needing to improve but the rules in cricket and near enough concrete, no opinion or hairsplitting once it’s sent for a review, it’s out or not.
