Bid rejected for Clarke

That's such an embarrassing bid from Burnley. They need to stop wasting everyone's time (their third bid ffs).

If I was a Burnley fan I'd be seriously worried their recruitment team is wasting their time on such ridiculously low bids. They either don't have the money, or don't have a clue. Might be one of those they are bidding to try and keep their fans happy/ look busy, but know they don't actually have the money. We've definitely done that in the past during our banter era.

Equally our club needs to set a minimum price (for me 17-20m, I understand others want more) and no even bother responding to anything far away from it. We can't pretend that players don't all have a price, but 9m is a joke.

30mil minimum.

Allegedly there is a 30% sell on clause.

I would actually go down the mags route and say something daft like 50mil and start from there. They rarely got ripped off for a player sale.

We would never get it but it sets the stall and the tone from the off.

The 2nd bid was reported at 10m now this bid is reported as 9m if true what the fuck they playing at, Kompny comes across as a right arrogant tosser

I would add ten mil each time he tried to be a twat.

Clearly hoping to unsettle him in the hope it drives down the price.

Why do people keep typing we are encouraging these offers? Just guessing on the worst case scenario, sad depressed people. This is a different club, its not happening, let Burnley keep spewing out their shite, its not happening until its around 3 times that price
People expecting Clarke to say no as well. He’s just getting on with his football

I think we hold all the cards here unless Clarke goes on strike to get a move which I very much doubt then we can just continue to reject till they move on. As Speakman has said we're building a team and it would be hard to replace Clarke with someone as good or better and that's with also not having Diallo this season.

If I were Mowbray or Speakman, I’d be having a chat with Clarke and let him know that Burnley clearly don’t rate him very highly if they’re refusing to meet our asking price. 8-)

There is either financial issues behind the scenes that those in football know about and we don't. Or everyone still thinks we're the Sunderland of a couple of years ago
The club simply have to say no unless its over 20m. Any less and there'd be doubts about what the plan is.

Hopefully downie is wrong about us not reparesponding yet as I don't like the sound of that.

But are we paying him the wage of a 15-20m player that we allegedly rate him at.

We won't be.

I dont see us being skint if we're shelling out 1m plus for option 8 centre back and a million plus for a 17 year old.

I wonder if anyone has ever gone on strike because they wanted to move to Burnley? Even the idea they are trying to unsettle him relies on them being an attractive option, which I just don't see.

If I was Clarke, I just wouldn't be fussed about going there. Keep going like he has and he'll get a far better move.
