Yann M'vila - target or not?

Kirch>Catts>M'Vila

Larrson probs ahead of him anarl tbf.
😂😂
Kirchoff was very good, absolutely no way on this earth he would've been as good without mvila alongside him.
There's a reason why he played practically every game he was available. Even when he supposedly went through a slightly sticky spell.

If it helps, I knew that was a terrible idea. You should never buy someone to appease fans, this isn't that, he has a very specific set of attributes that fit what we require perfectly. Just so happens we have an ace in that he used to love us.

Didn’t we have something similar with Borini.

I think fans expect the Yann of previous and I am sure he’s not the same player. That’s the concern.

If he signed, of course I would be IN like a bloke who just got back with a fit ex from school

He did pretty well and I liked him but the praise is over the top

It’s a bit like the demand to get borini back after he first left

The Borini thing is a good point but different given points in career and aspirations etc, impossible to know exactly where his head is at ofc.

Personally, I'm not after a dose of nostalgia or the box-to-box player he was prior to Jan K turning up, he wasn't supposed to be that anyway, he's an anchor, one of the most underrated players of the last 15 years in the position we missed last season through Evans. The position where age isn't typically a deciding factor.

Nice to dream.

Well that depends on who else offers him a contract I imagine, given he is out of contract (I think).

32 now, young family, last move, kld and his French contacts.

One last tango.
The only recent English language media article where he is on record, talking about his future, is a not very subtle “come and get me plea” to gulf state cash. Near enough says he’d be excited to play in Saudia Arabia with Ronaldo.

It certainly doesn’t scream - will turn up away to Plymouth for 10k a week.

Nah.

Seb would have come in for Catts. Would have been a lovely balance. Two technical players as the 8’s, box to box, left foot, right foot. Kirchhoff as the gorgeous libero 4 that he was.

He was box to box when Kirchhoff played too… He just dropped in when the libero went roaming.

Wasn't like, went Anchor behind Catts or Rodders ambling about and Jan Box to boxing, don't know what Libero you were watching in a 2 at the back?

Encapsulates everything the club requires in a single man. Anchor, aggression, ability, will to win, I can think of no one better to tutor Ekwah and Neil to become top flight footballers.

Should be top priority, I think he'll sign.

Thoughts?
Aye - 8 years ago

Nailed on to be playing in the Saudi super duper league next season, along with another 100 or so players in their 30's and out of contract.
