Moeen Ali offered Ashes return

It’s difficult as in one way would love him back as him batting at 8 would make our 3-8 very strong.

And he is probably as good as any other spinner we have.

But in another don’t want him back, and it’s crazy if and I know a big if.

That England are possibly kept waiting and putting any other plans aside while he decides if he wants to play in the Ashes.

I mean f***ing hell waiting on a player deciding if he wants to play in an Ashes series !!!

Stokes told nasser in an interview this week that cook type player wouldn’t have been picked under him

People need to get used to it like

Unless your strike rate is 75 plus you don’t gonna get picked for England
Whilst the new style of play is very good and a big change, i am not really sure its the right message to be sending out that Cook (or similar) wouldnt get picked. Cook was / has been one of the best we have ever had

He’s just being honest like

He’s not gonna pick those type of players so why say he is?

Yeah I find that a bit annoying
Neither would Moeen to be fair with his record against the Aussies.

He’s still a test quality bowler tho, or was. This idea he’s like Livingstone or jacks isn’t true like, they’re legitimate part timers

Bit of a backward step for me. Back those who want to play not have to be talked into it which sends the wrong message. From memory Moen was not a world class spinner in the test arena, decent but no more

I am with those who thinks this isnt a progressive move. The last year has been a breath of fresh air with the test team and surely we should be brave enough to blood an up and coming player instead of going back over?

The methodology for changing what was an average test team into a good test team….is that no one plays negative cricket. As Stokes has said everyone needs buy in. Cook has been one of the best ever but would not get in the team today. It’s about putting the opposition on the back foot from ball one. I dont think Cook would have been able to adapt change.
