IPL 2023 🇮🇳

Cortisone injection for nowt
He might have been better off going the surgery route again as a cleanout and missing the 6 weeks of IPL to get back for the Ireland test.
I get the money is obscene and life changing but maybe they need to look at bringing the IPL earlier in the year (though they would no doubt just cram extra IPL games into it to extend it)

Hate the nationality bias in the IPL, you see it happening loads used to be massively towards Aussie players but this year for example Hyderabad are basically picking all South African overseas players due to their captain and off the back of being bang average too. How Rashid has only played 2 games is beyond me.

Then you have Rabada probably the best South African player not getting a game at another team.

surely nobody is watching this still
Why?

I have watched most of it and been brilliant entertainment

Had a bet at the start and still going.

It’s the best players in the world pitting their wits against each other and packed stadiums with the fans thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Not sure what not to like about that ??

This “best players in the world” thing does my head in. Each tournament quality is based on the quality of the domestic players, as that’s who the majority of the players are. We have by far better white ball depth than them like

It’s not that popular in England that’s why I ask, gets poor viewing figures yet is on for 2 months

I understand why it’s huge in india but this idea everyone round the world watching all the time is a huge myth

The bottom line is that it is terrific entertainment and brilliant watch imo with world class players in it whatever spin you want to put on it.

Whether we have more depth than them is irrelevant to the point that it’s brilliant entertainment and a tremendously popular tournament although of course I agree a lot more popular in India

Can’t remember one player from anywhere in the world who has played in it have a bad word to say about it.

While plenty have said it’s a brilliant experience with awesome atmosphere in the grounds.

Last year and this year will be the same ,over 100 thousand attended the final.

Take that in 100 thousand people attending a domestic cricket match!!!

I have no idea why people feel the need to have a go at a tournament providing awesome entertainment and joy to soo many people.
I throughly enjoy the blast and our domestic white ball and enjoy IPL too both great watch imo

It’s far too long, I have absolutely no interest in the players enjoy it at all

People have ago at it because it’s totally destroying cricket

You don’t seem to know or care what’s happening and coming with the world game

International cricket is totally fecked because of a tournament nobody outside india watches

What’s Indian fans selling out grounds and the players enjoying it got to do with cricket fans outside India?

Personally I think the powers of be need to come together and work out the correct balance between something as popular as the IPL and international cricket and work out a way to protect both.

Rather than having a go at something that all concerned with it, praise it and enjoy it.

I think the tv rights package sold from the IPL ,show that it is poplar and watched in other countries otherwise they would not pay for the rights to broadcast it.

However of course in full agreement the Indians absolutely love it.

It’s about working together accepting the popularity of it as it not going anywhere
