Well, it doesn't get paid by 'normal trading flows' as you suggested because they don't exist.
Guaranteed future income as a result of extending the ground is nowhere near a good case either.
There is no evidence that the demand is there. If SAFC had a full house most matches and another 10,000 or whatever were trying to buy tickets, then that would be good grounds. These are businessmen and they'll look at the cost of maintenance, catering staff, upkeep of the extended section of the ground, policing costs and so on and offset that with future demand.
It makes absolutely no sense for them to extend the ground, with all of the cost that entails, when as it stands there is no prospect of that money being recovered in ticket sales.
Could be pretty funny though. God forbid we ever end up back in league 1, but if we did it would be a lot funnier in a 63 thousand seater stadium. And for that reason it makes a lot of sense. There is absolutely zero need for increasing the size of the stadium for football matches at this current time or any credble foreseeable football situation.
If we were promoted its likely we will lose a lot more games and crowds would settle at about 44k.
Only if we progressed to being top 4 and baked in top 4 for years would it make any sense at all.
History in my lifetime tells us we are more likely to be in League 1 than 7th.
For football the stadium is too big for 90% of situations including relatively successful ones.
And if we ever did become genuinely successful then you could extend with confidence and have the money to pay for It.
Talk of extending the stadium for football is totally pointless.
For concerts we could have more seats.
But do you really want to rattle around in an even bigger stadium for the match just so that 6 concerts a year are bigger.
The whole idea is completely stupid in my opinion.
48,353 is the record at the SoL back in 2002. We’ve never got above the 47,000s since even with multiple sellouts.Yep, that was the Capacity before they had to create the larger press area in the Premier Concourse and the Sensory Room also took away seats in the back of the North Stand to create the balcony they built. P37 was also diluted to create the away supporters disabled balcony.
Oh definitely.Still a fairly decent crowd for a newly promoted side !!
I spoke to a lass ( I knar ) and she says it’s pay day the morra and she is going to get one ( hasn’t been for good while ) -probably a canny few like her ?Looks like a few sold this evening from earlier.
Pay day tomorrow for many so you would guess all gone by lunch time.

Same for any big club that -except not many have been in division 1 for 4 seasons and would get 45000 plus after that the next seasonCould be pretty funny though. Don't come knocking when the SOL is rockingLoads going to miss out. People will be wishing they bought tickets in the Watford end.
City get a lot of stick for their attendances, but they’ve been in our position in the past and still had big crowds.Same for any big club that -except not many have been in division 1 for 4 seasons and would get 45000 plus after that the next season
Would love to see some of those with “big support “ and see how their fan base would hold up to that -I suspect many would fall away dramatically
One season in third tier -not 4 I believe!City get a lot of stick for their attendances, but they’ve been in our position in the past and still had big crowds.
You’re right, I don’t think any other clubs would though. One season in third tier -not 4 I believe

They need to stop people leaving after 70 minutes mateThousands will be outside legging around the stadium full pelt singing Wise Men Sing at breakneck speed.
I would like to see the likes of Man Utd ect spend 4 seasons down there and see how attendances hold upYou’re right, I don’t think any other clubs would though.

Look at Arsenal when they were comparatively shite, empty seats all over. Fact is mags lost 10k in the prem. they would have been in the 30k range if they’d gone through what we have. Let’s face it there’s not many teams of our history and size been through what we have.I would like to see the likes of Man Utd ect spend 4 seasons down there and see how attendances hold up
Our club can be criticized for many things but in a truly working class area -where money is very tight for most -our fans stick with the lads
This lot are a breath of fresh air compared to many I’ve watched and i questioned my sanity continuing to renew with the several I’ve “ followed “ in recent years taking the yer kna what out of us .
The South Stand Extension is planned to look the same as the current West Stand and 3/4 of the North West Corner so the remainder of any extension around to the North Stand would be the same. Its the way its been designed.
North Stand Upper P27 140 P28 428 P29 130 P30 428 P31 80 P32 450 P33 130 P34 428 P35 140 P36 428 P37 12 P38 97 TOTAL 2891
Correct marra -when I hear of some of the “ bad times “ some proclaim to have had -fortunately (for them )they are not in our league for thatTidied

They would if we were top 6 regulars and in the mix every season for champions league. Sure we'd fill it then regularly no bother. But lets be blunt that will never happen. Or at the very highly unlikely side of the spectrum next to never. We'd have to be a state owned club like city or the scum to get there but who wants that on the back of misery that Saudi Arabia, one of the worst in the world, inflicts on so many. Other states obviously but the Middle East regimes are the ones doing this and it's for a reason.Whilst I agree with your post , there’s another angle.
In most of our lifetimes we have followed a team with limited success. In that time we have often gotten big gates and have filled the stadium
Often.
If , and it’s a big if , we did become consistently successful as in high league positioning our gates would soar. Look at This weekends game against Watford , a game which only contains hope of a future play off place . We could have topped 50k probably.
Imagine if that was a game to claim a champions
League place ? You wouldn’t get a ticket at 60k.
We shouldn’t minimise how big we can be.
Surely the 350 have now been sold?? Imagine the club announcing a sell out if they’ve left 350 tickets behind the goal unsold??
Also does this include P12 and P13??
I know - but it’s wrong clearly. The Whole of the NSU holds 3000 (slightly less TBH). That includes the front 5 rows. Watford have sold about 1000 so there should only be 2000 empty seats in the ground. That even allows for segregation.
