The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

If that was my bairn I'd rightfully be f***ing furious knowing I'd been on here posting about this shit for years now. Club are failing fans like this bairn, the scary thing is we've seen what they think of fans with the season ticket situation, the club shop opening times the ticket office opening times then the mag workie ticket security guard. This is just another and way more visible representation of how they view us.

From BBC Sport.

Charlie was "stuck in a big ball of blue smoke" when the missile got trapped underneath him.

I just hope that the Birmingham fans are proud of themselves. How long is it going to be before a child is seriously injured

Need proper security and search / frisk everyone entering the ground. Anyone later found to have smuggled a flare in arrested and off to court after night in the cells. Put a perspective screen up and not clean (it'll be smattered in seagull shit in next to no time) it plus sprinklers, anyone setting a flare off, start sprinklers on away fans for their safety.

This is not a new phenomena, I had a flare thrown by away fans land near me when we played Man U in League Cup semi in 2014.

A child? Anyone could be killed/maimed/blinded by stuff being chucked down below, be it a full bottle of drink/piss, coins, vapes, any heavy, sharp object etc..

It was a moronic decision to put away supporters in part of the most dominant stand in the ground, one that was earmarked to be the new Fulwell End when we moved to the SOL from Roker Park.

Last Saturday the whole of that lower section of the North Stand should have walked on to the track and pitch in front of them. The Police/inept stewards couldn’t have done anything and would likely have understood why they were doing it.

The lack of response from the club to this issue is not on. Is Steve Davison alive? Who is accepting responsibility for putting hundreds of our own fans in potential danger for their lives?

Start docking points from teams. 3 points docked for Birmingham for this incident. 6 points for the next flare thrown by their fans. Etc.

That will soon make clubs clamp down on their own trouble makers soon enough, and will also encourage normal fans to police their own scummy chavs.

Surely the club have to act now rather than just paste and copy the same old statement every time there’s a incident
With two home games left this season I'm not expecting much, next season will be the test. To fit nets would need either cherry pickers or scaffolding to reach roof to mount fixing points which would have to be substantial, there is a pic on another thread of dutch fans climbing a net, who'd want a person landing on them when net collapsed?

Knowing our luck it'll be home team penalised for not providing a safe environment.

It's probably a naïve comment but I wonder how much awareness KLD has of this situation or if it's left to Davison to 'look into'. Hoping they aren't all idiots.
