Very much worth bumping this thread from our resident Hull fan. Quite obvious that even the measures they've put in place aren't being stringently applied. It's absolutely no wonder that stuff is still getting in, and still being flung. You can't tell by looking at someone if they need to be searched, and we can't expect them to literally search every fan. So, if the away fans are staying where they are, which we know they need to for at least the next season, there simply has to be a net or similar in place.
Prior to the Hull match I was walking along Fawcett Street behind 3 Hull fans (2 adult males + 1 boy of about 12 years). The boy cracked open an orange smoke bomb and chucked it behind himself (in my direction) after about 30 seconds. His Dad and friend thought he was class and the 12 year old clearly though he was hard as owt. There were very few Sunderland fans around so there was no reaction as such.
I presume this was the same little scroat who lobbed the smoke bomb inside the North Stand Upper. Good job his sparrow arms couldn't throw far enough to clear the front wall.
This 12 year-old would not have been searched for pyro at the turnstiles,
