The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Come on mate. There are many youngsters that sit there that won't have had a previous seat. And those that did will more than likely find their seats have been taken. Many moved from west stand swc and that is largely full to season ticket holders now..

I just find it galling that people who said moving the away fans to the NSU was a good idea and had no regard for us who had season tickets there, are now bleating “why should I move?”

It’s a fact the stadium was designed with the away fans being in the south stand, all the infrastructure etc. The move to the NSU was always stupid, many of us said it at the time. It hasn’t worked, netting won’t stop pound coins or liquids.

A Hull fan launched a smoke bomb from up a height.

So very next game …. Another smoke bomb and it happened again.

The away fans response to a stadium announcement requesting that objects not be thrown?

A Chorus of “We’ll throw what we want, we’ll throw what we want, we are Birmingham City, we’ll throw what we want”.

Seems like the search policy is not working?

To be tedious and repetitive I made this point in the earlier post in this thread after the Hull match:

“Under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 SAFC could be liable for prosecution and unlimited fines if a fan is killed as a result of serious management failures resulting in a gross breach of a duty of care.

This could be particularly relevant if SAFC were aware of a systematic safety failure at the ground and then failed to take effective action.

I seriously wonder who is advising the SAFC Board on this issue at the moment.”

It also feels like there's a bit of cultural thing developing where it's fair game to come here and do it, as you will get away with it. You have to laugh at the word request being put in the message on the scoreboard. I could request a million quid from the bank, but I'd be told to fuck off.

What edit? I've edited nowt.

Chill out ffs. You been drinking or something. I can guarantee you would not be calling me a tit to my face.
You just had the fart bit in when I clicked and then when I clicked you had the security bit in. Whatever.

As poster above have said most of the NS ducked off when in league 1 now getting all
Mighty about wanting a say…..
A lot of jonny come latelys.
As for cells etc it no longer matters, the club won’t be moving 5-8,000 season tickets holders for those wanting away fans to be there.

Would they not?

They moved us all from the NSU

Because I posted another reply and it added it to my post. Are you really falling out over that?

You would, would you? You must be a total knacker in that case.

Time to sack Davison or for him to resign

No excuses, move the away fans back

We're in a bit of a strange place as a club at the minute. Mowbray seems like a really good bloke and this set of players are probably the most likeable we've had since the Reid days yet there is very little to like about the people in positions of power/influence in terms of running the club.

From my point of view, I can certainly say that it's bullshit to suggest RAWA are happy with whatever platitudes the club put out.

The smoke bomb today sailed over my 9 year old's head and we were fortunate that he wasn't hit. I immediately messaged the other members of the RAWA board to say how serious it was, and how it illustrated that the current measures are nowhere near sufficient.

The club said they'd weighed everything up and said they were happy that this was a good enough solution. We've given them the benefit of the doubt. As expected, however, some stewards saying "empty your pockets please lads" hasn't been sufficient. The societal study into why pricks act like pricks also, unsurprisingly, hasn't materially changed away supports in football.

RAWA have immediately sent out a tweet to canvass opinion and it will 100% be brought up at the next meeting, and hopefully before. For me, a "we'll look into it" won't be enough either, they've taken months to look into it and what they came up with isn't sufficient. And that's before we talk about the lad from the FSA who has reported the club to the independent ombudsman because he thinks the approach is unfair, which might mean they have to change it anyway.

It's not good enough, and today has demonstrated once again that they haven't done enough

Hopefully it will be an extra-ordinary meeting called and convened to discuss this specific issue and not wait for the next scheduled meeting on the 12th of never.

I suggest RAWA request a meeting to be held on Monday before Tuesdays match where there could be more incidents
