There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a healthy respect of talented footballers, no matter who they play for. I do however draw a line at Des Hamilton! 😆
 
Never "liked" any of them but as much as I dislike Weetabix heed there's still a part of me that respects what he did as a footballer and I guess a localish lad but fuckem.
 
Bobby Moncur, was a function in Shields late 60s, some players from both clubs in attendance,

was waiting outside hoping to see Monty, I was only about 9 wearing my beloved Sunderland

shirt & had a pot on my arm, only Moncur stopped to say hello & he signed said pot.
 
Another vote for Frank Clark, an honest plodder at NUFC , a bit in the Cec Irwin mould, but went and won a European Cup winnets medal with Forest after being shown the door by our neighbours, what an irony.
