Racism at Yorkshire CCC

Think it's a bit strange it been decided on if it can be proved or probability of him saying it. Vaughan said he didnt but 3 ppl said he did, yet they decided on the balance of probabilities it didn't happen. For the other players where it seems there wasn't many witnesses they deem on the balance of probabilities it did happen?!?

He's absolutely made for GB News. Wonder if they want a cricket correspondent
Well if it's anything like their alternative MOTD coverage the other week. Won't do Vaughan any good, was like Alan Partridge sketch only better than Steve Coogan could have possibly been able to write bigoted fuckwit

Bresnan to appeal ECB verdict . Think they used Vaughan as the stalking horse now all those judged will come in for " not proven" consideration .

Aye sounds likely the horrible twats that they are
Be mad not to really it will mainly be one word against another i suspect ( even if words were spoken ).
To be fair theres probably non of them truly racist beyond a load of junk patter between team mates , or at least dont feel in their hearts to be, so are unwilling to wear the label.

For all of the shambles of the process I think the one positive is that it’s highlighted to a lot of people that the types of comments used once commonly in dressing rooms aren’t banter but racist. I think we have moved on a lot anyway but it’s reinforced things.

Can go either way . Of course things have moved on a pace these days but its not uncommon to hear the asian lads being a bit near the knuckle themselves about each others provenance. Either way people are more thoughtful now.

He’ll have a job. The ‘you lot’ remarks may not have been proved, but they found that he was guilty of other conduct on different evidence. No findings were made against him in that part of the case.

It was his considered choice (presumably on legal advice) not to appear and put his case. He didn’t challenge the evidence so can hardly now complain about the verdict. It may have been different if, eg he’d been Ill and unable to attend but they went ahead regardless.

I’m not sure of the basis of his argument that he wouldn’t get a fair hearing. Vaughan didn’t appear to allege that. The tribunal was made up of a practicing sports lawyer (KC), a sports law professor (female and of Asian heritage), and a former professional cricketer. None of these are in the employ of the ECB and were probably as independent and varied as you will get. The fact that they exonerated Vaughan seems to show that they did their job in considering the evidence properly. If they’d been ECB patsys, this would surely not have happened?

It would be good if they could now get on with dealing out the punishments, for the good of everyone and cricket generally.

I thought Bresnan didnt cooperate as the ECB wouldnt disclose evidence pre hearing . Might be wrong
