Yeah but we need to remember they do have a group NUFC Against SportswashingBias aside, football would be the one to benefit!
Plus it would be HILARIOUS

Roughly translated from how I saw this was ok erm since this was arranged by our government we shall therefore just avoid the question and brush the whole thing under the carpet,,,,,however if we should say no longer require Saudi Arabia for oil, should maybe the war in Ukraine mean we look elsewhere for resources then we shall take a look. What a heap of dog shit. You must be logged on to see media items
Personally do not think this is a good analogyI would.
Would rather be involved than massively cut adrift where eventually no one will give a fuck about any teams outside the top 10 of the top leagues.
Kinda like saying: Would you rather live in your 2 bedroom flat youve been brought up in as a kid or come into some money and move into a huge house with 6 bedrooms and a swimming pool
It’s not. You’d have to buy the 6 bed home with laundered money or blood money or something to make it work a bit better. It ignores the premise of the thread which is the perceived trade off of “selling your soul” for successPersonally do not think this is a good analogy
Bravo sir....Bravo...Going a bit deeper with this, but I don't believe the soul of this club can be sold.
It's not a tangible thing.
The "owners" of this club don't own the club. They own the real estate, the buildings, the fixtures and fittings. They own the contracts of the players. They own the SOL.
The soul of this club is non of those things.
The soul is the feeling. The love. The passion. The soul is no more the SOL than it was Roker. Roker Park is history. It's gone, but the soul of this club is still here. It's etherial heart beating as strongly as ever.
The soul was built around dreams that players and fans had in 37 and 73. The soul is the love you carry for memories of nights in the Fulwell, or memories of missed penaltys at Wembley. The soul is the joy you feel when you get a ticket, the pride you feel when the Red and White stripes come out of that tunnel.
The soul is built on the heartbreak of relegation and the euphoria of promotion.
Whoever signs the cheque is not buying that.
They are temporarily renting it.
Its not for sale.
Now, or ever.
This. Look at Michael martins twitter he is as far left as it comes calling out anything and everything politically, he then presides to stick up for the Saudi Arabian government (the very regime that should be everything the left stand against) at any opportunityNo chance, can already see what it's done to the majority of those deluded ***** up the road.
Hilarious how many politically left Geordies lapped it up and refuse to believe there's a problem allowing that kind of ownership into our football pyramid.
When you’re running around in a Saudi Arabia strip and being summoned every half term to prance about for their pleasure at the expense of your dignity sold is exactly what you are. They’ll win stuff but it’ll not be the same mags I can’t stand.Going a bit deeper with this, but I don't believe the soul of this club can be sold.

Marra, if we sell the club to owners like that, I am done until they are gone. When you’re running around in a Saudi Arabia strip and being summoned every half term to prance about for their pleasure at the expense of your dignity sold is exactly what you are. I don’t get the really daft comments about not wanting us to get promoted. Surely if you hate the top 6/Saudis so much you’d want us to be in with a chance of rattling their cage. We won’t get that in the championship. Brentford, Fulham, and Brighton are in the top 10 and have pulled off some fantastic results against the bigger teams.
I really don't think that any true fan doesn't want promotion.People who dont want to get promoted may as well go and support someone like Preston

This thread is about the moral price of that success.
Personally, I would rather what we have, than the moral cost of success under a tyranic bloodstained regime.
Just my opinion.
I get that marra.I’d like to think if we were bought by a regime like the mags, that my morals would prevent me from going. Put on the spot, and asked right now, I’d say that I wouldn’t go anymore.
The reality is though, Wembley last year with my 13 year old was a special day for us. I’d miss meeting my dad and my brother with the bairn for the match. I don’t know if I could give that away.
I don’t actually agree with that, as much as it pains me to say.Going a bit deeper with this, but I don't believe the soul of this club can be sold.

I have Man City supporting friends who love their team just as much as ever but are aware the relationship changed when they were taken over. The relationship is diluted by the money somehow, it’s hard for them to describe. They can’t hug the person in the seat next to them because they’re taking selfies or whatever. Little things like that, but the soul does change
No marra. You are actually agreeing with that.I don’t actually agree with that, as much as it pains me to say.

I feel like that’s a really hard thing to define. You say you might not come back. What if the club was filled with people who were new to it, it meant little to, and who the world perceived us through? Your relationship might still remember 1973 etc, but the core of the club would shift. The true Man City fans are the ones with the soul of the club in their hearts,
