Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

Missing out on a couple of hundred quid to save a couple of quid.

So short sighted. Football doesn’t have to always be about making a profit surely? Baffles me how wrong they can judge things time and time again.

Sad. Honestly never thought I’d be in this position but it just looks like the club doesn’t want my custom. We are an absolute mess off the pitch.

Though what disappoints me is some supporters can’t see the damage and issues stuff like this causes for a lot of fans who aren’t tech savvy.

And for the first time in years it's actually been worthwhile paying the money and going to games.

I've been complaining about lack of cash turnstiles for years and already skipped plenty of games at the stadium because of these issues

I'm really not confident they'll do anything except give a couple of people a a print off QR code or something.

Don't believe they're interested at all and would rather only help the odd fee who kick off and pay a £10 admin fee. Shocking really.

Just come from somebody on here, that's it so far.

Charging £10 'admin' fee to renew in person is probably their get out. Essentially use that fee to sort people going down to complain about it.
The hierarchy at SAFC aren’t interested in the best interests of the fans at all, all they’re interested in is minimising cost at every opportunity without any consideration for possible problems for some, whether that be not caring about fans being hit with missiles in the North Stand (net not required) or this latest issue with digital ticketing ( not everyone is tech savvy)

People went mad when they scrapped the season ticket books.

wait till they move to finger print scanners.

Oh I can’t wait
Finger print scanners would work a lot better than mobile phones.
almost everyone has a finger and they don’t cost anything. Unlike mobile phones. Imagine your phone dies just before entering

Simple solution to this is make it optional, I would imagine the majority will go digital, myself included.
Those who are unable / unwilling will be a small percentage.

If its optional, I don't think many would choose the digital option. There's about 10 of us in our match group aged from 25-70. And every single one said they'd get a physical card given the option (even with a £10 admin fee). The older ones all said they'd be jacking it in if its not an option

Was waiting for this and can’t believe it took 10 or more posts.

I what world is having a digital season ticket a bad thing?

I appreciate the guy is getting on a but luddites really frustrate me sometimes.

Club handled it wrong though. A better pr stunt would have been to reason with him and get him in and show him that a digital ticket wont harm him.
What if phone is out of charge or broken?

This bit really needs highlighting to the club quickly

A fingerprint scanner would be good. You can’t forget your finger.

But imagine the state it would be in by 5 minutes past 3

Covered in chips, grease, beer, coke, and worse!

This is why they should have pushed out FAQs or similar with the press release rather than drip feeding information. And if it is the case that it is optional why not communicate that in the first place, doing so after the initial release just looks like a u turn.

We have three owners. One we know wants to make as much money out of us as possible. One is using us as a test subject. The final one we don’t really have a clue about apart from his weird political career. It’s a recipe for disaster as far as fan engagement is concerned.

I can see the logic in there being a fee, if only to prevent them ending up with 30% of people demanding a physical card because they’ve always had one or just to be difficult. You can imagine a lot of the same people who order food, concert tickets, taxis etc on their phone deciding they won’t do it for the football.

Not particularly fair on those with a genuine reason but there you go.
This is what I expect will happen. There will be an alternative for those who literally can't have a ticket on a smart phone etc, but I expect the club will try not to promote it very widely, and possibly to have a cost associated with it because, as you say, they won't want lots who can use a digital ticket simply deciding they'd rather keep their cards

There will be an option for those who can't access a digital card, 100%

Yet the club have seen the backlash from this since Friday and haven't issued any assurances that it's the case
