Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

As do I, but the club haven’t said anything regarding physical season tickets and they’ve removed one of the most loyal sunderland fans for holding up a placard.

It’s pathetic.

Come off it man
This is exactly what the club has said
"all physical season cards will be discontinued upon the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign"

That couldn't be more clearer. If they don't backtrack, lots of (mainly older) supporters are just going to jack in. The couple we have in our group have said they'll be packing in if there isn't a physical option.

That’s what I mean. What they said in the press release is the opposite of what they said at the collective.

I’m not sticking up for the club.

Gus is a top bloke absolute gent & ive known him years,He`s actually our postman :D (dinnar how he ever gets his round done like as he talks about the lads to everyone he meets on his round! ) hes a massive lads fan & has been all over supporting the lads.Back in the early `70`s shall we say he always stood his ground at away games :D , so fair play to him he doesnt want to do digital tickets & tbf there`ll be a load more like him.

I think it’s a good idea to move into the next century

Was waiting for this and can’t believe it took 10 or more posts.

I what world is having a digital season ticket a bad thing?

I appreciate the guy is getting on a but luddites really frustrate me sometimes.

Club handled it wrong though. A better pr stunt would have been to reason with him and get him in and show him that a digital ticket wont harm him.

No. The correct solution is to move everyone over to a digital season ticket but to offer people a normal card. My dad doesn’t have a mobile phone therefore won’t be going unless he has a physical card. The PR release was very clear that there was no alternative however we now have confusion as people are saying you can get one.

It will harm him if he doesn't do smartphones though ffs. Just think about it. Asking people to change for changing sake. The option to keep your card is a no brainer. A hard copy that's a piece of piss to use.

@Roger this is getting embarrassing

Exactly mate. It’s absolutely embarrassing from the mods. It’s gone to shit this past few weeks.

Nothing has changed in policy over the last few weeks. The site is funded by advertising and this obviously needs to be protected for the site to function. There are, as you can imagine, an army of sportswashing conscripts (or Mags for short) ready to report anything that Google wouldn't like and Google is fussy - our definition of racist, hate speech, libel etc does not necessarily match it's views. This isn't 'it could happen', but HAS happened. It has long been the case that threads are moved to members only areas (like Parsnip) to both protect the site from Google's army, but also to give mods breathing space to tackle unacceptable posts where a thread is generating, this is better than locking or deleting you will agree which are still required in other circumstances of course. It has been less common with PF, but it isn't new. This thread was only moved after unacceptable posts had already appeared and been removed, including very derogatory comments on the supporter in question. The thread remains open to all members to view and post on, it's location on either PF or Parsnip dos not affect that nor like any other thread reflect any mods views on it in any way. In the past such explanation has not always been given and some members have been irritated by that so in this case a brief explanation was given, and now expanded on. Thank you for your understanding.

If the club are actually going to offer physical cards (or similar) to people who don't have smart phones etc they need to tell people as that statement said ALL physical cards would be discontinued at the end of this season. My Dad is 73 and my uncle is 75, they have smart phones but only use them for phone calls and texting. They won't have a clue how to add a digital season card.

How many times have i said this...KLD and the hierachy have zero interest in the fans opinions or interests.
I have gave them the benefit of the doubt until recently but they are starting to worry me.

Not putting a net up where the away fans are is a disgrace and shows how much of a fuck they give.
Working with SO37 then telling them they can't put displays on at the last minute.
Forcing things on the fans like going cashless and digital season tickets. And if you need any help from the ticket office you can pay a tenner.
Leaving us without a single striker. I don't care how hard they 'tried' to get one, they simply had to and they didn't. I don't believe they care, so long as we stay in this league and they make money off the players we can sell they'll be happy.
Not opening the ticket office or club shop until there was a total backlash from the fans, and even then they barely have any stock. These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head.

I honestly think there would be hell on if the last owners were the ones doing this.

Just give fans the option then things will probably end up moving towards all digital gradually. The fans who want to use a paper season ticket will get what they want and so will the club in the end without the needless burning of goodwill. The £10 'service charge' for something which the club should be providing anyway is a disgrace and needs to go. Fans like my grandad goes to the ticket office every year and pays it off in full yet is going to be stung with that from now on having probably spent thousands of pounds with SAFC down the years. Ridiculous.
