You would think even just one cash turnstile would be worth it, every little helps as they sayShould be pay on the gate , not just for this game , every game
If it was on a Saturday and not on tele. It would have been 40k plus. If this game wasn't on TV and still the same night as it is. It would have been around 35k imo27-30k for a mid-week 4th round of the cup is decent. A lot of our fan base travel in from far so its a big effort for a 7:45pm KO if people are working. We also have a large number of families too, who are less likely to go on a school night (my two aren't going tomorrow). If this had been a Saturday game i reckon there'd be 35k there. Which for us, in recent history, is a great cup crowd.
That is ridiculous, mind it's only as ridiculous as you "very rarely hearing mackem accents at Sunderland games." Haway man.
I also love the fact, in my experience, no matter what your accent, birthplace or where you live, you will always have a friendly face brought together by the love of our clubBob Murray once stated, cant remember exact figure but about a third of ST holders were within the city.
Thats a small amount compared to msny clubs id imagine.
Pits/shipyards etc etc ensured msny, including relatives of mine fecked off afar in thr 80s. I love the makeup of our fans, from allover the shop.
Pretty much. Would be interested to know if any premierleague club offers cash turnstiles theses daysMay as well i suppose. Assume they just want people to get used to cashless and buying tickets remotely.

like it or not their fan base is bigger than ours. Not surprising given there's no club north of them in EnglandClub of a similar size and fan base in the same hotbed of football.
That support from the city is less than other clubs?
Well, what about Newcastle, Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea, Tottenham?I said Id imagine.
Versus a club like say Burnley id imagine we have a huge ‘outside’ support.
