you stay in Saltstraumen itself? I’ve been over to and stayed in Bodo 4 times in Feb and fish the fjords around there with the odd trip to Saltstraumen. Locals there get a bit arsey when you park up mind don’t they…

Aye mate. Stay at salstraumen Brygge. Check it out on Facebook.

There’s a big group of locals trying to get the fishing stopped because of all the waste that gets left. There’s a load of divers trying to get it turned into a conservational zone. The Norwegian government are giving them money aswell so will probably get stopped sooner or later

But yes we stay there and fish. Had fish upto 46 lb. The record halibut came from a mark within half a mile of our digs but got broke a couple of month ago in bodo (250lb😳).

It’s some country but the weather is absolutely ruthless

This is what I’ve heard. I know a few different groups who do it every year and they say the fishing isn’t what it used to be because of the Germans and their freezer vans.
Like the Polish lads up Torness.

Aye it isn’t mate. We went in February and we had a good week tbf like but know a few people who live there and the fishing was poor last year. Few lads went out a week after us and struggled like fuck.

There’s videos of them on YouTube spear fishing. They take everything like. Idiots

Arseholes mate. And people wonder why we keep marks as quiet as possible.

Just watched this. That halibut came in easy for a 100lber mind 😂😂😂

I think the guide they were with might have caught that and wore it out for them to wind in 😂

Thank you, I actually at that particular pair last night, some of the reviews had me doubting my ability to decide.

I plan on visiting the store in Pity Me next week, hopefully they will that particular type in store for me to try on.

Hope they’re upto the job. Once your feet go cold over there it’s game over like. They feel warm enough but only time will tell
