Ross Stewart valuation question

So I guess nobody has a clue how to put a value on LND eh?

Maybe it depends on who is asking - Brentford or Boro etc.?

I hope to God that KLD and the board have a better formula than the SMB.

I guess it's important to put a marker down. If we're to make a success of being a club that can thrive on developing players we also have to show the world of football that we'll not accept buttons for our best players.

Supporters would say at least 25-30 million

Club i think would accept 10 Mill with added extras

If we finish higher than half way this season and make a profit on players and gate money it will be classed as a success by the owners

Peterborough in League One sold Ivan Toney to Brentford for £5m (rising to £10m in addons) when he had 1 year left on his contract.

Given Toney had never played in the Championship, had a worse goal record in League One, and had less time on his contract, we should be looking at at least double for Stewart.

Thinking about it, he's got attributes like no other, attributes that would make you think by simply looking at him, that he's destined to do well in the Premier League. With that said, like I said earlier on, closer to 20 than 10.

We couldn't replace him like for like, he's tall and good in the air, yet fast and strong, amazing hard work and stamina in him, proven finisher, takes penalties, his feet are decent.

Jerry Yates is no replacement. The club have made out players will leave if a ready made player is in place to step up or come in. Dike at WBA. Could we tempt them with a big offer ?.

£20m is about right atm with question marks over his fitness. Think the club would take anything over 6 though and that concerns me.

I know the Ross Stewart contract situation and possible bids is being discussed in over 250 pages in that other thread… but

How can his current transfer value be established?

If he stays, there is a good chance of promotion, with all the dosh that the PL delivers = say £100 million in season 1 ( in round numbers).

If he leaves, the chances diminish in a very big way = say £0 PL money.

Transfermarket says we paid about £350k but that is now irrelevant.

A striker that almost guarantees goals must surely be worth at least £20 million to the likes of Brentford if Ivan Toney is out for a while.

So what price tag can SAFC reasonably put on him?

And – contractually – how can SAFC hold to that price? Is there any reason why they cannot?
What someone is willing to pay is his value. Ask what you want unless there’s a buyer….

Even in the championship in your position, how much would you pay for a striker who will score virtually every game, knowing there’s at least £100m potentially on the end of it?

Add to that our position that we don’t have to sell until at worst the summer As hell then be into his final year.
It would be the same if we sold akpom who has the same amount of time left, 3-5m.

With him being our only striker now he's worth a lot more to us than anyone will be willing to pay for him.

It would be the same if we sold akpom who has the same amount of time left, 3-5m.

It wouldn’t and if you sold Akpom for that you would have also been robbed.

Goal scorers come with a premium and plenty of lower end premier league clubs have plenty of spending power so a 10 mill gamble is nowt to them in reality.

I’ll be disappointed to see him go but that is where most clubs are nowadays (buying low/selling high) but there are levels to consider if he goes to a championship club it would be poor from the club and if the deal for Stewart was less than 10 mill then again that would also be pretty poor.
