Ross Stewart valuation question

SOLid

Midfield
I know the Ross Stewart contract situation and possible bids is being discussed in over 250 pages in that other thread… but

How can his current transfer value be established?

If he stays, there is a good chance of promotion, with all the dosh that the PL delivers = say £100 million in season 1 ( in round numbers).

If he leaves, the chances diminish in a very big way = say £0 PL money.

Transfermarket says we paid about £350k but that is now irrelevant.

A striker that almost guarantees goals must surely be worth at least £20 million to the likes of Brentford if Ivan Toney is out for a while.

So what price tag can SAFC reasonably put on him?

And – contractually – how can SAFC hold to that price? Is there any reason why they cannot?

So I guess nobody has a clue how to put a value on LND eh?

Maybe it depends on who is asking - Brentford or Boro etc.?

I hope to God that KLD and the board have a better formula than the SMB.

Shame if it’s £10m but could understand it.

Shame because I think we would struggle to replace him with someone of a similar ability with that kind of money.

Brentford sold watkins to villa for 28 million rising to 33 million when they were in the championship. 132 appearances 45 goals. Ross has 67 appearances and 34 goals for us, if he was to stay till the end of the season hell easily scored more than the 45 goals watkins had got in alot less games. Anyone that reckons hes worth 5-10 million need to give their head a shake.

I get people want us to follow “the Brentford Model” but if were following it we need to want proper money. 5-10,million is nothing.
3-5 million
Thats the stupidest thing ive heard all day.

British and as close to a harry kane figure you’ll see right now so taking into account a deduction for being in the championship £30m-£40m. I’m being very serious. he's quite unique in ability.
Sort of agree with this.

So.. you are any of the 9 PL clubs uncomfortably close to the relegation zone (Villa on 18 pts to S’ton on 12) . Relegation inevitably means lots of crap etc.

Here is a Championship striker who is more than just a guaranteed goal scorer – stretches defences, defends v. well etc. Would really raise the overall quality of your game.

OK – he’s not proven at PL level but he’s 26, mature and holds up brilliantly.

If it came to a bidding war, would you stop at £5m or go as high as £25-£30m if you thought he would keep you up?

That’s about right considering contract length and experience.

Get yourself into rehab mate
Even in the championship in your position, how much would you pay for a striker who will score virtually every game, knowing there’s at least £100m potentially on the end of it?

Add to that our position that we don’t have to sell until at worst the summer As hell then be into his final year.
