Good article and it's right. In Test cricket a win is achieved by the batters and the bowlers, both divisions have to be successful and it definitely worth pointing out the amount of wickets taken on difficult pitches.

It’s a team game of course but his individual performances against Sri Lanka and Pakistan were huge. Not quite Headingley level but I don’t think without him we win the cup

You just have to look at what he's achieved in his career and if his captaincy crashed and burned next year (which I highly doubt) he's still best best England player in the 37 and a half years i've been here. Root is still my favourite mind
