Sunderland will face Saudi Arabian opposition Al Shabab in Friendly (poll in Parsnip)

This is really annoying me now.

Need to have a serious think about whether I can continue to attend matches whilst these people are in charge of my club.

Appreciate not everyone will feel as strongly, just as I appreciate that most mags don’t care as long as they are spending money and winning games.

However, I think the team I support should stand for certain things and this might be a red line for me.

Yup, that's me done. Tbf these days I was only going to games to see the gents.

Strange decision.

Clearly a PR disaster and not even sure why they need to play a match while away, let alone against opposition of dreadful quality.

What’s in it for the other side? Are they there at the same time or are there financial incentives to it? Doesn’t make much sense tbh and could so easily have avoided all of this.

we've got a couple of weeks off and half of the squad injured, and we can't afford to put a £15k net up to protect home fans, regardless of the fact its in saudi f***ing arabia, what exactly is the point in this?

going to cost the club a fortune, for what?

what is the point in 'warm weather training' when the next 3 or 4 months of league games are going to be played in British winter time conditions?

why can't the club could just do nothing, say nothing, just keep their heads down and get on with things quietly for a change.

Stoke fan here .. little surprised at your choice of opponents ..as Stoke will be out in Dubai at the same time , reportedly using the same facility ,

Our club often makes finding info re our friendlies very difficult, we’re suppose to be playing a game at the end of the week , the handful of us contemplating going ( dependant on if BCD or not ) were half expecting a fixture v you

Is your game open to the public or behind closed doors

Genuine post as working hard hunting for info on our potential game , so not here to take the p

Folk are too bothered about what that lot think of us. Obviously they'll spin it as hypocrisy to wind us up but they know deep down the two things are not even in the same universe
Of course its in the same universe, you either accept the Saudi's and the UAE, or you don't, both clubs have, whether your red and white or black and white, both clubs have accepted, we all just have to accept that or start watching a different sport.

Just a complete cock up by the club, the people who own our football club would have no issue with hobnobbing with the likes of PIF and we need to remember that

1/10. Must try harder.

Rank decision by the club considering Stoke are also training near us.

Shouldn’t be happening

Shouldn’t have gone.

With the winter coming should have gone somewhere else. It’s not pre season. Another club fuck up.
I assume everybody kicking off about playing these won’t be going to the derby against Newcastle if/ when it happens again?

Outraged for the sake of it as usual

Have they relocated like? When did this happen?

Devils advocate here but doesn’t that Chris always get abuse from this place but has proven to be right about a lot of things? Mainly the shareholder crack

Presumably we’ll all boycoutt the club now in uproar or attend en masse with gay pride flags and pro human rights slogans 😉

I think the Neil episode makes this a complete non starter.
Good chance for him to get into Pritchard and Stewart’s ears though.
