Sunderland AFC U21s

You can see the lads are trying to emulate the first teams passing game ,doing quite well .I think we are more polished than wolves.

I like Newall, I think he could slot in at left back for the first team if needed and would do OK. The rest probably need to fill out a bit get out on loan at some point.
 
Been very good since their goal .

Ha Ha opinions eh,was just about to say how poor our let back was
 
Only watched the last 25 minutes or so, but thought we were lacklustre all over the pitch and nobody stood out to say pick me for a first team squad. That was only the last 25 minutes mind so I can't comment on earlier.
 
We've got home games next Monday and the Monday after.

Clashing with USA v Wales and Portugal v Uruguay though.

I similarly only caught the last 25mins but thought we passed it around well and that there was nothing between the two sides
 
Speaking of left backs, I asked this the other day. What’s happened to Pye? I’m sure we paid money this summer and he seems to have just disappeared
 
Despite some negativity abiove I thought there were some impressive performances. Watson looks a real prospect as does Burke. They are only 16 and 17 and stood out for me. Newall at LB was good throughout the game. The big problem was that our CF, Gardiner, was barely in the game - he lacks strength and could never hold the ball. Spellman was disappointing as well. Overall, there was little between the teams but it was good to see youngsters coming through finally after a few years of picking up other's cast offs as a result of Stewart Donald's policy of selling off our talent.
