Sunderland AFC U21s

I was there on Tuesday night he also dropped a couple of crosses aswell. Looked miles away
Hopefully it only takes him a few games to adjust and he takes it in his stride. Tough gig compared to a 17 year old outfielder.
Sure he's gonna have some tough physical challenges along the way, huge from playing 16s last season and then only a handful of 18s this season.

Thing is he's a boy playing mens football. That's the reason for the loan to learn his trade. He won't be used to balls being landed on him and 16 stone men's jumping into him. It's part of the development stage

Watched Dan Cameron the other day, he was awful, maybe a bad day but just watch these goals he let in for West Auckland,

No where to hide in goal. Pretty much straight out of school and into blokes football. Good to see the save at the end, was it a double save or did the defender block the second? Couldn’t make it out on the video. Also good to see the west captain ( think it’s Gary brown) give him a bit support after the 3rd goal.

Nowt to choose between the teams so far. For us Johnson looks strong, Kelly looks decent on the ball. Watson looks bright for a 16 year old. I feel Spellman should be running at them but is choosing the early pass each time.

0-0 h/t. Standouts for Sunderland were the young lads. I was most impressed with Burke in the middle. He's 17 and is very tenacious and combative in the middle. He constantly wanted the ball and used it well. Our best chance was from Watson who is 16 and looks very talented. Newall at LB also did well. We are very lightweight up front as is Spellman who is just a bit too weak although works hard.
