The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Well it is you ignorant twat!

You'd be the first to complaint if your family lost and eye or worst.

Football is for everyone to enjoy safely. Daft twat
My quote (below) - that you agreed with FFS! 😳

"Folks will be along soon to tell you that the SAFETY OF THE FANS IS LESS IMPORTANT than chucking away a 2 nil half time lead..."

You agreed with my daft statement and replied, "It is you ignorant twat!"

For the avoidance of doubt, I think there is nowt more important than safety at the match. We both think the same thing👍. I was merely speculating that some would think otherwise.

If anyone is seriously injured or worse the club could be sued for millions because they have failed to act when it's been an ongoing issue for years.
Exactly, half the reason i keep reporting it. At least I could use it as evidence to bring the bastards to justice should the worst ever happen. Maybe it could help some poor family at some point. Our club is an absolute disgrace off the pitch like.

The council are clearly missing in action on this one too as you'll not get a clearer example of a public safety risk.

Heard afterwards that a young Sunderland fan in the North Stand was hit by an object thrown down by Burnley fans and had to get taken away for treatment (not sure how badly he was injured).

Thought there was a hit of an edge in the atmosphere around town yesterday. My marra, who was a bit of a handful in his day, went toe to toe with a young Burnley fan who was acting himself but unfortunately my marra ended up on his arse. Took a bit of a ribbing in the club afterwards. Luckily his ego was more bruised than his face! He forgets he's pushing 60

This is a very well documented issue. God forbid anything serious happens, but if it does, I hope the fans take the owners for a serious amount of compensation for corporate neglect or whatever the legal term is.

I can’t believe that the club don’t already have the insurance, Heslth and Safety and FA agreement they are doing everything to mitigate the risk.
I fear it’s not enough

Somebody said it was ten Bob bits ( née idea myself ) but even nets wouldn’t stop them -and how u search for them I dint know .
Catch the culprits ban em for life and send out a clear meesage would do the trick ?
Can you imagine being banned from ever watching your team again -if that happens to one others would stop Shirley

And fine the club.

Hope not, anyone know how many there bringing up
Burnley brought about 3000 up yesterday

I brought my dinner up at FT.

Mags have has away fans up above their own for 20+ years, definitely a lot longer than we have. Is and them are the only 2 stadiums in England with this set up. Does anyone know if they suffer with the same issues or if away fans act themselves more when they come here?

Tbf I remember some of our lot used to throw stuff down onto them at the landfill which is why I try not to get too outraged when it happens at our place. Shite that a bairn apparently got struck by a missile yesterday mind. That sort of thing could put him off going back.

See My other post on same page & link to what I was referring to
Well remembered Hank. Pitchside in the PL for tv atmosphere reasons. This was in the media about a year to eighteen months back. There was even talk in media circles of this happening BEFORE ES moved the away fans upstairs.

A particularly handsome witty charming modest smbr mentioned it a few times in the numerous away fan location threads we have every few months only to be shouted down with the usual whatabout this club and that club which to some on here obviously meant it had nivver been mentioned etc. The smb loves a kill the messenger angle.

ES was wrong to move em up there, the twat twins were wrong to leave em up there and these current lot are also wrong to leave them up there. It’s been a catalogue of stupidity by a series of rich owners with no knowledge of football attendance as experienced by the majority of fans.
SAFCs current owners need to sit down with the R&W Army, local polis, council and an architect to thrash out an agreement that doesn’t put attendees lives at risk every time they set foot in the SOL and creates the best atmosphere possible for TV. A great atmosphere with players filmed against a background of their own fans creates great TV and that’s where the money comes from. Get the away fans back downstairs asap.

It has to be the SW corner for me. Current ST holders will need to be compensated with more than club shop vouchers or out of date shirts which won’t go down well with the owners, but it’s about time someone ower there other than the fans started thinking long term and an atmospheric stadium that looks exciting to visit has to be the priority. Give those required to move a free ST for a year in the other corners minimum.

Its long past the time for put up or shut up for those drawing salaries and/or prestige from SAFC. Ferchrissakes at least look on it as keeping yourselves out of court if the worst should happen.
Away fans should've been moved to th SEC obviously. Nobody but the mags ever needed that big an allocation and it would've kept them next to the police cells etc..it was bleedin obvious
The PL and TV companies want away fans on TV more readily.
I can’t believe that the club don’t already have the insurance, Heslth and Safety and FA agreement they are doing everything to mitigate the risk.
I fear it’s not enough
They will be but that won’t be any use to someone in a wooden box marra.

I understand that the logistics will be complicated but that is not a compelling reason to avoid making a good decision.

It would be unworkable to do it this season so therefore start the process now and make the change in time for next season.

Is there anything to do to force the clubs hand? For example when the club messed up the season card discount I contacted the ASA for misleading advertising and it was soon sorted out. Shouldn't have to do this type of thing but nobody at the club listens otherwise.

I sit in the North Stand which is luckily high enough to miss anything thrown but its became a bit of a joke now.
