Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing

Favourite programme on TV. Has everything but most of all gives you a much needed injection of the feel good factor.

Was it my imagination or was Whitehouse close to losing his temper over the net and the carp?

I start shouting at Mortimer to stand bloody still when he has a fish on his line.
When he hooked that Carp he was jumping up and down, vibration down the rod and line could have resulted in a slipped hook.

indeed Whitehouse looked a little angry 😂
Mind you overjoyed when he landed the Carp.

He's like an overexcited schoolgirl at times. Which is actually quite nice and much preferable to world-weary cynicism

Thanks for that, they stay in some amazing places. Been wondering for ages where to find them tho!!
 
Not interested in fishing at all, but I like this show, as others have said easy viewing, canny crack and some beautiful scenery

You just can’t help liking him. So warm and gentle.
Both are in tune with each other, from health to laughter. You don‘t have to be into fishing not to enjoy it, superb scenery, wildlife and the general open conversation is so wonderful.
Spent many years on the river banks with friends putting the World to right. An immense feeling of escape and protection when you are away from it all.

Used to fish just downstream at Shillingford. Cracking far bank Chub fishing against a backdrop of trees. Just heaven.

Got the feeling from the last couple of episodes that Paul wasn’t in as good a place mentally at the time of filming. Things seemed more laboured to him and he was less jovial.

Also, the editing made it feel pretty obvious they didn’t actually stay in the accommodation on this episode.

His mam recently died didn’t she? Messes with your head for a while something like that. :cry:
 
How 'soon' is it filmed? We're on series 5 now on the telly but apparently Bob was taken ill after filming last week - is that for series 6 does anyone know? I love the show - i always liked both lads for their work, i love fishing but for the relaxation and peace not the actual angling, and it's filmed so beautifully. Two mates, out for a days fishing, taking the piss out of each other and just taking time to enjoy life.
