County Cricket 2022

I moved to SW London when I was 18 so Surrey CCC are my southern cricket country - back in the day of Stewart and Thrope leading the batting and Waqar Younis as their overseas player.

They’re favourites to go down, but I feel like that’s the best outcome for county cricket - because this (f*cking stupid) idea for a 6 team ‘Premier Division’ wouldn’t look great for the franchise lovers if a load of Test ground’s weren’t in it.
Interesting thought. Based on the current top six the Premier Division games would be played at the Oval, the Ageas Bowl, Old Trafford, Chelmsford, Northampton and Taunton.

It' a very good point this. ECB won't want them or Yorkshire relegated next week. Ideal outcome for the ECB is for Kent to be relegated. Got to fancy Yorkshire to stay up as they're playing Gloucestershire at home.

Kent vs Somerset, Warwickshire vs Hampshire. Kent are 14 points ahead. 24 points to play for.

Aye, I’d love it if one of the two Test grounds got relegated.

You never know too regarding Gloucestershire, the pressure is off, they won this week and they seem to have improved as the season has gone on - albeit clearly not enough, but still.
