To give a balanced assessment I think Eddie Howe has made them very strong defensively and they don't concede easily, but for all the money spent they still don't have a lot of goals in that team.
Careful, honest assessments are not allowed on here. You will get threatening PM's like I do. Fair points mind. Although when all their forwards are fit I think they will have goals in them.

I understand the sentiment that we all do not want them to do well, and there is a lot of anxiety about this so it creates tin foil hat approaches to them.

It's that underlying fear of a return to the 1990s, and unfortunately I just don't see how they are going to struggle this season although they won't be a top side either.

He’s not but he rims the fuck out if them at the slightest opportunity
Not true either. I give my opinion. Last January I said they would stay up because of the money they would spend in the window, I got a barage of abuse including threatening PM's. This year I think they will do ok and think they have had a solid but unspectacular start, which again is just my opinion. But thanks for telling the poster I'm not a mag because I genuinely do find it quite offensive :D

They are very good when they have a fit squad, but right now they have a few key players out and without them there isn't much left.

I think they'll have chance to have a good look at the squad between now and January and then chuck a load more money at it, then be strong enough to qualify for Europe.

I watched their match today and there's just no collective creativity, the kind that you see at Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool - it will come though. Money talks.

216 million and still bang average

Was excellent towards the end of last season tbf to him. Deserves it for those performances
Are you still pretending to be a Sunderland fan?
Very astute by Eddie pulling out of that Harrison deal. 35m is ridiculous money. You can have all the money in the world but it doesn’t mean you throw good money after bad in the case of wood.

Desperation in January forced that upon Eddie but he clearly has no intention of letting that happen again and no need to in the summer transfer window.

Not letting clubs hold you to ransom will show others that you can’t add an nufc tax onto transfers. Very sensible management imo

Watching match of the day was that isak 60 million and joe linton 40 million
Dear me

Howe spent a fortune on shite at Bournemouth & relegated them. The Mags big up every signing as world class as we know. I think having spent £216M & the winning the PL within 5 years bollocks has heaped even more pressure on them. Not one of their signings had a big club interested, they have Sean Longstaff playing in midfield. I think they'll finish 12th to 14th. They're shite & it's built on sand. They sold their souls expecting to be challenging. The bedsheets will be out if Howe loses the next 2 games. Its what they do.

Same with pretty much every club to be fair, attendances have rocketed
Agree but née one goes on like they do as if they always had masses at the match like was my point
Mate of mine goes on like it was before the war and yet he’s 60 -it’s like he’s blanked the 10000 crowds out like it never happened-as you say we too got low crowds but when you hear “ they will always follow their team “well that’s not quite right ..-a hardcore yes las you say no difference to other clubs
