They keep saying - if we had the key players back we'd have won, ignoring the fact they've spent over 200 million and have no strength in depth. Morons.

and then there's those nasty other premier league clubs that have decided not to play nice and loan them players for peanuts despite the fact that they have unlimited wealth courtesy of their murdering overloads.

On a slightly different note ... the Toon hierarchy have been complaining that clubs have been hiking the cost of transfer targets and have said they are not going to be held to ransome. When Abramovich took charge of Chelsea and Man City were bought out it did not stop them paying over the odds. So just how much are the Saudi's prepared to throw at it ? Toon expectations of winning the PL and the CL seem a little far fetched at the moment.

They are signing players like dan burn, matt targett and chris wood

I dont think any trophies will be getting lifted anytime soon

Had the misfortune of seeing there game today as was out for some lunch and it was on after. They seem a bit disjointed, Pope and Trippier are very good but elsewhere they are sorely lacking. Fraser and Almiron looked particularly poor

Still not sure where I think the Mags will finish. Have some decent players, think Pope was a good buy and Trippier but a win against notts forest and a load of draws is hardly league title contenders. Easy for players to raise their game against Man City, Liverpool so not sure whether newcastle were decent or just raising their game but Wolves and Crystal Palace were games I was expecting them to win given how much money Howe has spent. They won't be fighting relegation but thought they were supposed to be top six material. Unless they reach the top six I think Eddie will be looking over his shoulder as the owners will be expecting at least that. Fortunately the Saudis have turned up at the party too late and I do wonder how long b4 they get bored with behead eddie.
