Craft Beer

Never been a fan of Alchemy but saw X Ray Eyes in Morrisons today and noticed it had Sabro. Part of the 4 for 3 so only £2.25 a can. Really nice.

I may be guilty of hating this if I've tried it before in my pre sabro loving days but will definitely go back for more

Decent weekend coming up from next Friday-Sunday. Berwick Food and drink festival, been for the last 5 years.

Looks like a few from our end is coming up, S43 and Hops and dots. Usual ones there are Tempest, Top Out, Bear Claw (nano brewery who are class), cheviot, First and Last. Two by Two were there a few years ago. Canny little day out and live local music.

Visit to the Curfew has to be done.

Pollys are great, and also good value. I'd probably go for a Pollys pale ahead of Verdant or Cloudwater if I walked into a bar with all 3 on, and that's without taking price into account.

S43 are very good at everything and do all different styles.

Similar in that they knock out a load of very good pales but other than a couple of sharp fruited sours they don’t really do much else. Too many breweries play it too safe imo…but then, if it makes you money then why wouldn’t you.

Their stouts and porters have been very good as well, but that's because they don't do wacky adjuncts so suit my tastes.

I'm liking Arbor of late, solid and unspectacular but nice beers and good value, in craft terms at least, for pint cans

Its more so the infrequency of them rather than the quality, they’re few and far between.

Arbor are consistently good, very rarely exceptional but always good enough to make you want another and, as you say, good value.

I've ordered from Pollys a few times this year and agree there aren't many. Anemoia was as a good a straight up stout as I've had for a while. The latest order included a mosaic stout. Basically a BIPA no doubt I'm expecting but I really like them.

It’s class, if you don’t like it I think it’s safe to say hoppy pales aren’t your thing.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll drink pales & ipas, but because I like stouts so much, they’re a bit wasted on me. I couldn’t hold a conversation with anybody on here about light beers. Haven’t drank anywhere near enough.

Anyhow, just looked & it’s a 6.5%er. Band aren’t on for 4hrs so thinking it might not be a great idea.

Anybody in the Isis yesterday? Going there in about an hour, so might be adventurous & just drink whatever you lot recommend rather than the first stout I see

I was in there aye, but was hammered at that stage so can't remember what was on, soz. The pizza was absolutely tremendous though.

I’m not eating like

Opened the Even Sharks Need Water. Have a few mouthfuls before I get picked up & finish it when I get in. I mean, it’s canny. I like it, but it’s not as good as stout. I also don’t know what it is that makes a good IPA. Just tastes fresh & citusy to me

I mean, the non-stout thing didn’t get past the first order. Only a chocolate orange one on keg, I’m not an orange fan, but owa lass got it.

Sitting in the back now, it’s baking hot. Drains stink like.

If you look closely you’ll see owa lass’ tits in the pic
