Twitter is full of rubbish but then again...so is this post of yours.

If you're referring to the game on the 29th March 1992 (Keegan was appointed in February) the attendance was 30,306. A thousand more than was at the reverse fixture when Ardiles was in charge at Roker Park (29,224)

I'm not sure what other game you mean as the season before you were in the division above us!
 Epic fail. Check who you are replying to before getting on your high horse

Typical mag behaviour - Ignore the detail and focus on the inaccuracy by the OP. Either way the gargantuan club that you are lost 9.5k that season from 1st home game to Cambridge at home (13k) and they only returned when Keegan arrived.
Are you seriously looking for a debate about crowds? I reckon you’ve averaged more than us about a dozen times since the war!

Fks sake man Leeds won the league that year and only got 28.000. Villa average 23k, Everton 24k. Liverpool's gates dropped to 25,000 from 38,000.
We averaged 18, they averaged 21. (which considering we were both D2 refelcts well on both) What does any of that mean now? Completely different times.

Is it not time we stuck a padlock on this thread? They must be laughing their fat tits off right now. In the day they sign a £60m centre forward we lose our manager to Stoke City. Seriously, lock this thread and they might go away.

i'd still rather be a sunderland fan. fuck them. i'd rather be a sunderland fan even if we were relegated to the northern league and they won the european cup. soulless, evil, scummy club

Not at all. You win the crowds cup. Maybe Roger can knock a certificate up.

Try reading the entire message. A mag is so thick he interpreted the OP incorrectly and I simply pointed out the direction you were going pre-Keegan.
