Seems the PIF tested the water in the provinces with a front woman to take away the heat. Got knocked back but then the Mags protested (110,000 or so who’ll deny signing the petition when the Saudis FO) so had to carry on. Got the initial sportswashing done so when a better target came up they could do a proper deeper investment without any major publicity. Canny way to operate.Chelsea have welcomed them
Is this panic because queen Mandy prefers London bridges to all the iconic Tyne ones ?![]()

He obviously has very little to do with his life and is quite content to spend it on here simply spouting Saudi propaganda and help deflect attention away from his new owners.Am still trying to understand what this @Mills and Boon is getting being on this forum
Every opinion is pretty much pro Saudi and he’s obviously loving the attention.
Strange behaviour indeed
Sportswashing, then?An explainer for Skylon, who seems to be a very slow learner.
Until now, the Saudis have got on with whatever they've been wanting to do. MBS shaking hands and making deals with world leaders. Human rights issues were not a problem for them. They have not required a football club to help them with any of that.
Are you still with me?
Now, they're wanting to diversify their wealth by increasing tourism, all that 2030 stuff. But who the fuck wants to go there, right? Not me, not you and for good reason. That's why they feel they need a club to associate with to raise their reputation. It's not to make the deals they've been making for generations while committing the same human rights abuses that world leaders don't give two fucks about.
Are we on the same page? Can you see there's no contradiction there?
Economy SportswashedImagine having the richest owners in the world and joint owned by the Reuben Brothers who are worth £16BN and you’re buying Championship players for £20M. After all the bluster about them winning the PL within 5 years etc and they’re no where near. Bedsheets out soon!

" In another intriguing twist, however, two of Newcastle’s owners attended Chelsea’s first home game of the new regime on Sunday, with Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi guests in the executive box belonging to director Eghbali, the founding partner of Clearlake.
Staveley and Ghodoussi are believed to have used the audience with the Chelsea hierarchy to discuss transfers and press their case to take several of the club’s fringe players on loan."
This is going to go tits up isn't it!
The more I read his posts, the thicker he seems. Tourism man. He knows absolutely nowt about the blokes in charge of his club, which proves he couldn't care less about the wahabist(which he had never heard of)human rights abuses in saudi.Sportswashing, then?

I can put up with the odd page of this, but every day now he fills several pages with the same mundane rubbish. It’s about time the mods realised this and put him out of his misery for the good of this the forum
