The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

There was 2 smoke bombs, 1 dart and 1 glass bottle thrown down just in my section of the north stand. Probably more further up and down the stand. Your fans are a disgrace and hopefully the club and the EFL take some strong action this time. Not holding my breath mind.

I'm fairly sure that an aluminium smoke bomb canister would prove equally as lethal from that height tbh. I certainly wouldn't volunteer to test it with my skull to find out...

They are comfortably the worst fans I’ve encountered.

Club need to put something out and take this as far as they can….does someone have to be seriously hurt or killed before anything’s done. Get it dealt with now and swiftly, if fans safety is not a top priority because it’s a hassle or might cost money then the people making that decision aren’t fit to represent the club.

What should have happened is that the game gets paused and all away fans are told to leave the stadium......!!!!! Once they are all our the game is then resumed.....

Banned for the next 5 away games and bennned for 3 years from our stadium...

Quite simple really.

However don't run on the pitch or will get exterminated. You can't make this shit up man

Aye I'd love to see that. 2,000 away supporters on the lash in an orderly single file queue exiting the stadium because a man on a tanoy asked. Good luck with that!

Mouthpiece?

Two people got caught throwing something and both got arrested. Hopefully they both get a long ban at least and a prison sentence if throwing anything dangerous.

A mate of mine (Sunderland supporter before you say anything) only saw a flare coming down. Don't know what the other item was. But yes we do have a few idiots just like you do. The vast majority of us are OK and had a good time mingling with your supporters. Just how it should be.
Well at least you have come back. Though with your pathetic response I wish you hadnt.

If SAFC had done the coward and ***** trick your lot did yesterday they would have been called out. You have a lot more idiots than most so please dont ever compare our support to yours and it was certainly more than a flare.

We have many fan bases at the SOL, some with proper rivalry not wanabe like yours, but none have behaved as disgracefully as your lot.

Given your fans chanting, chat on websites and general behaviour I certainly hope you are banned from attending the SOL in the future.

Coventry fans are the issue and by the way Jimmy Hill is still a cheating and hypocritical ****. Jog on and try to find a rivalry nearer your shit hole.
Just don’t let Coventry fans back. I think it really is as simple as that. To think last time we played Newcastle the only noteworthy thing that happened was one of them broke a seat and took it home with him

QPR up next will be no bother at all.
Agree its that simple.

We either ban this filth or we install a retractable net and as someone else has suggested when Coventry next come we add a supplement to their tickets for the purchase and deployment of this net.

It would be unfair to treat all fans the same as the vast majority of fanbases never ever stoop as low as Coventry supporters.

We either keep the animals out or they properly pay for their actions.

The club needs to make a statement in some sort of way to deter it happening, as mentioned before re. threatening bans for all away fans of clubs who are involved. There is a lot of copycat culture with football fans so there needs to be a clear incentive/ warning not to do it or others may do it as well. Especially if it goes unpunished

We are having the debate which the club should be having. On the basis of no action to date you have to assume they have not. They don’t care and it costs to much to resolve

Comment of the day

At what point does someone break the law? When they refuse to follow instructions from the stewards. Let’s just get the right people in the right place to resolve issues
They dont. If they break the ground rules and are requested to leave by the owners or employees, stewards. The Police can then assist if requested.
If they actually break the law, they can be arrested

Image of the away end here. Approx 18 officials positioned infront of their fans. Surely one witnessed at least one of the throwers but shat himself rather than taking action?

Sick of people saying move them to somewhere in the East stand. It's the busiest stand, it's the stand where the cameras show so when Wigan turn up the stadium looks empty and it'll create a segregation nightmare. I know there's a joke on about bovril etc but we don't want to be next to the away fans and we pay the most money in the ground aswell.

I'm guessing there's fans on here sitting there but it's moved anywhere it should be in the SW corner (or NW corner). It already has the segregation from the access tunnel, it's behind the camera so it won't affect the stadium on TV, there's no stand above and security office is right above it to catch knackers (last 2 SW).

At the same time the family zone should be moved to the North Stand and the singing section expanded to take over the SE Corner aswell. I really don't get why the family zone is next to the Roker end anyway. It'll fix the atmosphere problem at the same time.

You have got your head in the sand mate. Listen carefully...only two clubs have put the welfare of fans at risk and Coventry is one of them. Don’t give the we have a ,few idiots’ bit and attempt to brush it under the carpet.

Only two people you say, that’s all right then.

The apologists like you are half the problem. Your club and your fans have failed to control the idiots and now you have to pay a price or it will become the norm
Petty comments like the above are unnecessary and detract from the serious points you’ve made in this thread .

Petty? He makes a good point with his sarcasm and he’s entitled to. Most on here are cynical as to the clubs motives. The club is putting profit before safety.
