2 relegation's but immediate bounce back. Entitled and clueless. Pre-Ashley average = 14.4th, Ashley average = 14th. Suffered? For crying out loud.

Even so. I was surprised not to see more. Maybe the actual, more rational match attending fan base isn't as pro-saudi as I thought. Maybe they're privately more embarrassed about it than we think.

I genuinely expected to see a lot of fans in that strip. I saw a handful among a lot of people as I was caught at the lights outside the ground.

If i was a genuine Newcastle fan, with a conscience (who are a rare breed to start with!) I'd be quite happy that it doesn't seem to be selling well

A friendly against European opposition, tickets probably vastly reduced in price. There will have been a lot there who may never go again this season

As someone with a family connection and a real soft spot for Darlington....

I'd like to see them genuinely "suffer". Not because it's Newcastle but because of the arrogance. Newcastle haven't "suffered". They haven't been "asset stripped". Theyve simply not lived up to the unrealistic expectations of a fanbase who 25 years ago almost won something.

Darlo fans watched their club become wealthy with George Reynolds. He built the stadium. He delivered a "club that tries". He signed championship and ex prem players like Wijnhard and Joachim... and I really do think he believed in the Darlo project.

The "project" failed. Darlington now don't have a ground and aren't in the league. That's "suffering" if you are a football fan.

And I hope to god that Newcastle fans one day get that dose of reality. Because if any club deserves it (and let's be honest... no club deserves that... but if one did) its Newcastle.

In Ashley's reign the home form is 124 wins, 68 draws, 82 losses so they won more than they lost. It is hardly suffering.

and if any mags say there are away games also....out of your 52k screaming Jawdees that amounts to about 4k (max) regular away goers (less than 10%). And let's be truthful for many an away game is just like a stag do and an excuse to go on the drink all day. Kids chucking their guts up in the park at the Everton game recently. No one can tell me that the football was the main event that day. The day out was.
