i dont recall any of them saying they should get a loan out guaranteed against future income. they were all working out how many millions PIF could "give" them without breaking FFP. i think it started at 200m.
I liked the one where they were going to sell hundreds of thousands of strips in Saudi.😂

There's certainly nothing to show it's what you've all been expecting though.

Theres been big investment in the playing staff which hugely paid off in 2nd half of last season. Then there is investments in non playing staff ie Ashworth / CEO etc, then the investments in the facilities both stadium and training ground. Thats a lot in a relatively short time. Great effort so far imo.

This summer has been nothing, and I mean nothing, like you all imagined

It’s gone from Ronaldo cleaning boots to signing a centre half most of you had never heard of before you were linked with him

I presume you like to think 'we all' imagined the scenarios like Ronaldo you mention. You know that's not true.

The investment is exactly how everybody thought it would be which is great as so far its massively paying off.

Have you an example of it paying off thus far?

No it’s not man!!!! 😅

Chris Wood, Dan Burn, Nick Pope etc

I’ve absolutely loads of mates who are mags and they were ALL expecting different level players to the ones you are getting. Their expectations were to finish 6th or 7th this season and be closing the gap with the big 6

Let's be real... we were all told we wouldn't be able to cope with the level of signings you would be making this summer and it would send sunderland fans into an early grave. still waiting for that to happen. There's time yet i suppose.

Even the expert himself, Keiran, has messaged me to say "very odd".

Richest club in the world getting a pay loan! You simply couldn't make it up.

So they are borrowing against the first 1/3rd of this...

Actual league position: 11th
Equal share: £79m
Facility fees: £19.8m
Merit payment: £26.5m
Commercial revenue: £5.6m
Total: £130.9m

Not really going to get you Diaby or Paquetta is it? When 80% of it will go out in wages.

Hilarious seeing fans like @ToonPack saying it was exactly as expected. And fans defending the action on twitter.

We will love seeing this all unfold.

I think the expectation is top 8 which is fair enough.

Can I ask why you mention Dan Burn when he was one of the standout players of last season ? Is it because he's not deemed to be a glamourous player ?
