In reality it’s probably some workaround to do with FFP, they’ve just employed a sports lawyer looks like they are going to be bent as fk and exploit every loophole but get away with it as the premier league are soft as shite. How does that work then with FFP? Do all clubs do this?

Haven't they got the cash flow already. I'm not very clued up on this mate.It just accelerates cash flow by giving them all of the PL money upfront, rather than in instalments. It won't affect the end of season FFP numbers, as the income total will be the same; it's just the timing of the receipts that changes. In theory, it gives them more ability to pay transfer fees up front.

From what Kieran Maguire is saying on his twitter page it's to increase cash flow and there's lots of clubs borrowing. How does that work then with FFP? Do all clubs do this?
Sorry didn't see thisIt just accelerates cash flow by giving them all of the PL money upfront, rather than in instalments. Seems at odds with the trumpeting of massive investment doesn’t it?There's no sign of any massive cash injection by the owners.
Depends what you want to class as 'massive'Seems at odds with the trumpeting of massive investment doesn’t it?
There's certainly nothing to show it's what you've all been expecting though.Depends what you want to class as 'massive'
Its certainly been substantial and productive since the change in ownership.
couldnt they just get a loan from their owners? It just accelerates cash flow by giving them all of the PL money upfront, rather than in instalments. If they did it would count against FFP. Borrowing up front doesn't (I think).couldnt they just get a loan from their owners?
Riba is forbidden.couldnt they just get a loan from their owners?
No, that would impact FFP.couldnt they just get a loan from their owners?
Perfectly in line with my hopes/expectations tbh Just further evidence of a shrewd operation. There's certainly nothing to show it's what you've all been expecting though.
Interest free loans should be fine thoughRiba is forbidden.
It helps with timing, not so much FFP overall I think. Pretty sure Leeds did the same thing when they last spent 100m preseasonIf they did it would count against FFP. Borrowing up front doesn't (I think).
fair enough. i just didnt see the difference between getting the money from hsbc against the PL money, and getting it off the owners instead. they could charge no interest. ashley loaned them a fortune. they were all expecting PIF to plough hundreds of millions in.If they did it would count against FFP. Borrowing up front doesn't (I think).
It wouldn’t count as the same way on the financials though, as borrowing from PIF is like if one of us moved money from our savings account to our current account I supposefair enough. i just didnt see the difference between getting the money from hsbc against the PL money, and getting it off the owners instead. they could charge no interest.
This summer has been nothing, and I mean nothing, like you all imaginedDepends what you want to class as 'massive'
Its certainly been substantial and productive since the change in ownership.
