So much for needing a 90k stadium  Struggling to sell for the opening game of the season

They've shifted as many ST's as they're allowed to by prem rules mind.

Had a fair few colleagues trying to get them on the day they sold the remainder and only one managed to get one.

The club didn't have to give them away. Could've just went with gates of 40-42k or higher for bigger games. There was regularly gates of around 44k in 07/08 for example. The club obviously thought a full stadium was a better look.
And better commercially, more people seeing those sports direct signs the better

Who remembers the pro Saudi ‘lawyer’ who appeared on Steve Wraiths shows and called everyone else a paid Qatari troll? Also sent to battle with the infamous Kate Stewart then became best friends with her even though she doesn’t exist :D

Given the wealth of your current owners what a gesture it would be if they reduced ticket prices by say 50%, the fans would be really appreciative.
It would be incredibly stupid, given the loss of revenue would badly affect FFP and therefore the ability to improve the team.

Of course there is pressure.....if they are 15-20 in October half the ones replying will be slagging Howe off. Did a great job last year but he was in a no lose situation and if you take the atmosphere/euphoria away it was pretty pragmatic and direct football. The squad hasn't changed enough in midfield to change the style as JoeL's passing is shocking. So it will be same again and the home crowd will see them through.
I think he done as expected. Newcastle on paper were a lot better than the position was showing.
They added some competition to places while weakening a rival. Trippier was a great signing for what they needed and where they were to be fair. Apart from that they were as expected for a mid table premier league squad.
