And non of those clubs or in fact any other club in premier League history had to give away 10,000 season tickets because they couldn't fill the stadium

Whenever I've been to Hartlepool matches in the past, the talk at half time was more often about how Sunderland and Boro were getting on... could be wrong but it's always felt like a town where the mags were a minority.

The club didn't have to give them away. Could've just went with gates of 40-42k or higher for bigger games. There was regularly gates of around 44k in 07/08 for example. The club obviously thought a full stadium was a better look.
