Muscat was an absolute thug, probably one of the biggest nutters to play the game. Him and Chris Morgan of Sheff United used to have running battles, he was a handy bloke by all accounts.Nee Kevin Muscat?

Souness was feared during that era, what nobody seen was the kicks he took off the ball by opponents looking toJoe jordan

make a mark...he took on all comers and was as good as sitting midfielder as we've ever seen anywhere, he could play, make no mistake.

i would love to see that lot play in the modern game nowadays , and how many of them would be left on the pitch after ninety minutes
Don't know which Liverpool teams you were watching but Terry Mc was the legs late 70's early 80's, they had a competition every season, most goals, TMc won every time, Souness alludes to it in his book, he's even called himself a sitting midfielder live on Sky.He was box to box
He wasn’t just a sitting midfielder, he was more than that he got himself around the park.Don't know which Liverpool teams you were watching but Terry Mc was the legs late 70's early 80's, they had a competition every season, most goals, TMc won every time, Souness alludes to it in his book, he's even called himself a sitting midfielder live on Sky.
He got his fair share of goals but you could never describe as the same type of player as Bryan Robson, Steven Gerrard (although he moved back for the last few years his career), Frank Lampard, a late career Scholes, an early career Keane, a David Platt or a Michael Carrick.
Souness got forward enough but used his intelligence to spot the opportunity, and he was playing with brilliant players who could pick his run, but most of the time he was the one providing the pass.
Who?Ronnie Pickering
Can you not read??He wasn’t just a sitting midfielder, he was more than that he got himself around the park.
If you’re telling me he just sat in front of the back four then I’m not sure what you were watching.
So he never got box to box?Can you not read??
"Souness got forward enough but used his intelligence to spot the opportunity, and he was playing with brilliant players who could pick his run, but most of the time he was the one providing the pass"
You could never in a million years, describe Souness as "box to box". He was a midfield general, an enforcer who could kick with the best & play with the best of them
Whatever mateSo he never got box to box?
This - he had Vinnie Jones’ s numberNo Kevin Ball - I’m out.
He was described as a holding midfielder and he wasn’t. I wasn’t being pedantic I simply gave an opinion which differs from yours and you don’t seem to be able to handle that.Whatever mate
It depends on your interpretation of a box to box midfielder.
My interpretation of a box to box midfielder is a Bryan Robson, a Terry McDermott, a David Platt, an early career Roy Keane, someone who doesn't get to involved in the build up of play but will make a 3rd man run to finish off a move.
Souness didn't do that consistently, his game was dictating the play, like Glenn Hoddle or Ray Wilkins.....but you already know that, you're just being pedantic (or you didn't see Souness play).
I can handle it, not a problem, you're entitled to it, I just don't agree with you, I think your miles away from being right mind.He was described as a holding midfielder and he wasn’t. I wasn’t being pedantic I simply gave an opinion which differs from yours and you don’t seem to be able to handle that.
