3 weeks before the start of the new season and my internal conflict hasn’t really resolved itself.

The reality of being owned by a state which is in all but essence supporting Putin in his war in Ukraine isn’t really hitting home for many because ‘the official club twitter is class now’.

We revel in Reubens donating to a foodbank made even more necessary by the party they choose to fund and becoming just as necessary by inflation being driven by Putins war in Ukraine supported by…you know who over in Ridyah. But hey…they’ve painted the Gallowgate.

They’ve added Biden to the list of whataboutery…it’s ok signing Botman because the President is fist bumping with MBS and that green shirt is a good laugh isn’t because it’s upset Olly Holt (tbf upsetting a Mail journalist isn’t the worst thing)

Mandy and Mehrdad are sainted…yes they seem awfully nice but as figureheads on a one year contract…why wouldn’t they be? No loss to them.

Ticket prices are rising, while Mike Ashley is guilty of possibly at worst being a disinterested badly advised owner, he kept prices low…prices will rise and the club don’t care if Dave from Byker can’t afford it, because the plan for success will bring in deep pocketed tourist fans that fill up the likes of anfield and old Trafford.

As I’ve said before, The fanbase is now dominated by a generation who grew up under Keegan and Robsons reigns where 5th was judged a failure. The biggest pain they’ve had is 2 relegations followed by immediate returns. They don’t remember McGarry, Sack the Board, Lord Westwood, Richard bloody Dinnis and years of misery and now they sit on podcasts and pontificate it was always top 10 finishes and European football and it bloody wasn’t.

I maintain Howe will leave this season, he’s the Mark Hughes of the revolution so to speak but I think he’ll go because he’s clear from day one he’s a hands on manager and that’s why Ashworth is now there and does Eddie Howe excite in foreign lands? Nah, would MBS pose with Howe? Doubt it. Jose will be in at some point and the Sir Bobby links will cause the Wear to fill with vomit.

Have I renewed? Yes as I’m on a deal. Therefore am I massive hypocrite? Possibly yes. I genuinely haven’t decided whether to go or pass the ticket to my nephew.

I just don’t like ‘my day’ of beers with the lads, craic in the pub and the normal working class lads and lasses around me being essentially an approval of our real owners…and that’s not an easy call.

Ps . The mag is utter shite click bait that makes the chronicle look Pulitzer Prize winning
A bit, mind only a bit, of credit where credit is due

this - they'd be better off if that period never happened.

Been out with a shields mag today, apparently the Saudi’s are obviously showing they’re willing to change by letting women drive and hosting formula 1 and boxing

I’ll let them off then

Sums up why The Athletic are begging people to subscribe for 50p. Sharing a pint as well and posing for a photo of it

Bumped into a washy mag today in newcastle, he got quite aggressive when I said you must be a Sunderland fan given your accent

Had a season ticket for 20 years though, must have queued up for 50 years to get one mind

Aye, world domination won't be far away with longstaff getting a new deal and Chris Wood up top.

Might come across all nice and fair play to some but its just smugness to me.

Young Adam has quit Uni to travel Austria, and can’t even afford a pint. Madness in a nutshell. I feel sorry for the kid and I would get a round in. His obsession isn’t healthy. Make of that what you will.

It's strange. Why are these journos sitting with him? All a bit odd.

Would be interested to see who's funding him to produce all this propaganda.

It’s a form of mockery, the kid has a wine glass filled with water. He’s a joke to them and don’t think that would fly in the slightest amongst our fanbase.

It's very strange though. He comes across as more of a plant to me to gather positive experiences.

Very very strange
