So it was more popular because basically all the blokes were off fighting or dead....

BBC article says it all

Really couldn't care less either way I am abit baffled as to why they keep saying about this lass to being one away from breaking England's scoring record....how are they even comparable when there is such a gap in the quality of the sport

Didn't a college mens team hammer one of the top womens internationals
That's one take from it yes, although it's interesting that the FA felt the need to ban women outright from playing the game when other sports (cricket and tennis for example) did not suffer the same fate...

This might not go down too well but why are the BBC pushing this sport down our throats on their main channel?
Unbelievable the coverage for this minority sport.
In all seriousness, I don’t think the sport will catch up to the promotion. So in 20 years it’ll just drop off again

As others have said the BBC is a public service broadcaster and for the same reasons as Channel 4 should be retained as it is, it provides opportunities for programming, including sports.
The economic reality also comes into play. The beeb has been outbid by subscription tv for most high profile sports events with the exception of Wimbledon. It wants to show sports with a popular appeal and women's football is increasing in popularity exponentially.

Why is white shorts and periods taking the piss? Serious issue for many 🤷‍♂️

I think the misogynists get a little bit embarrassed talking about periods there.

They think a natural function (and what is currently deemed a negative social consequence) is something that shouldn’t be under discussion for progression.
Can only assume so.

They get out of that by claiming the definition of “woke” is a lie and it really means being massively left wing or a Marxist.

Not that they know what Marxism means, like.

It’s all very convenient rather than them accepting the real truth that they are (usually) a massive bigot.

Bought my 15yr old Girl some golf clubs recently and she played her first round on Sunday with me, I'm a bad man.
You must have enjoyed the first half last night surely, what's that! you were watching Phil Mitchell on the other side.

You're just upset because you're missing Eastenders or your cooking programme😁

TV's generally come with a remote control these days, and there's quite a few channels available, plus all the other stuff - no one is forced to watch BBC.
Can't see a problem tbh - if you like summat and it's on telly, then watch it - if you don't, then don't .

Similarly with this snobbery about not terming it as 'womens football' on the internet or wherever.
Why does it matter ?
Why should men's football have any sort of presidence over the women's game?

Woman's football is great, I hope my daughter starts playing when she's older. I hope England win the tournament.....but in no way is it on a par with men's football.

I agree with your last comment in particular. Probably because Womens' Football was banned at one time. Mens' football was banned in the Middle Ages to enforce Archery practice as well.
