It's when you misrepresent someone's point or position on something into something easier for you to argue against.

Like when you said I denied the Saudis owned us. Can you find that sentiment in anything I've posted?

Based on the players you are able to attract and the manager you have I’d guess somewhere between 9th and 16th placed finish.

Nowt much will change: you’ll remain obsessed with us, the only difference being you now get gouged on transfer fees and when you start calling for this managers head there’s a legitimate concern the owners may take it literally.

I've avoided this thread like the plague but I have time on my hands and I'm intrigued. You maintain that a thread with the title 'NUFC/Sportswashing' that discusses the sportswashing of the unsavoury and at times heinous activities of the regime that owns your club is a straw man...you do this while making the straw man argument that they have the best interests of your club at heart and that's somehow ok.

I have no doubt that you understand what a strawman argument is (although you've not done the best job above) and so hopefully after reflecting you'll see what I'm getting at...i.e. you're making a straw man argument on a sportswashing thread.

I would also add that were' the roles reversed I wouldn't be outraged at the rulers of Saudi Arabia owning Sunderland if it meant that Sunderland were successful, so I can entirely understand your point of view.

You have denied your fans celebrated the Saudis taking you over, even though there are numerous pictures of you lot with saudi flags etc.then you denied they even owned you when you realised you had made an arse of yourself. Do you know what deluded means ?

You’ve had a total of 16 seasons in your whole history where you’ve played in European competitions. 3 of those seasons were Fairs cup, 2 were Inter-toto.
Between 1994 and 2007 you had 10 seasons in UEFA cup or Champs league.

When were the 14 years of regular European football?
