More media feeding the delusion to the deluded by implying it was 30,000 different fans in a queue. This 30,000 wanting STs is obviously going to feed into their ego plus it's not as if they'd already sold 50,000 STs. Again, I'm not denying they've got a huge fan base and one of the biggest and most fanatic in the country but they don't half blow smoke up their own arse at times, again often fed by the media baiting for likes, clicks, ads etc.

Just out of interest I had a quick look at the 1st mag forum I could think of and saw their season ticket thread. Skimming a few pages you can see that people have multiple logins, just as I thought given we've done it ourselves when waiting for ticket releases in the past. One even reckons he had 40 open and it's not a hard thing to do this for a techy minded person. Even the other 6 posters in this image had around 22 queue places so over 3 places each on average. This wasn't even all the people who had multiple places so this 30,000 thing is a delusion of grandeur as it could well have been a lot less than that in reality.

If I was on tw@tter like @Exile 1968 then I'd have some fun with the Mags in that Craig Hope article by hoying this link and image up to show it wasn't actually 30,000 fans but just the amount of places people took up by taking multiple places 🤣

I must be missing something here, they're making the same type of signings as they were under Ashley.

Yes but you’re missing the outgoings. Only the same if Dubravka is slated to be sold.

And for the bigger money ones, only if other players are going to be sold. Case in point; Joelinton was mostly financed by the sale of Perez

But it's bigger money deals isn't it? Which is all that matters to them at the moment, be seen to be spending big and they can all go on about what a big club they are.

Better still if its "net spend".

Net spend!!!!

Problem is, they don't have much to sell. No one is jumping at the chance to buy St. Maximin. (Pretty much confirming that hes hugely overrated) leaving Dubravka as probably their only potentially big money sale.

Perez was on form when they sold him, yet hasn't exactly set the world alight.

I wouldn’t expect Dubravka is worth much

Goalkeepers have historically cost less than most outfield positions. He’s 33. And despite 2 or 3 seasons playing in a premier league relegation threatened side he’d just played in Czech Republic before that

I’d say £5m to £10m

Say it enough times and your start to believe it I guess . As the chronic article says below (which they make it sound as though it was years and years ago when in fact it was just the other season)

There was once a time where Newcastle United had to give away half-season tickets in the Ashley era. Now, the Magpies have thousands of supporters who can't even get inside St James' Park.

Aye but the same applies to all clubs. All Qatars money isn't going to PSG (as we know from the world cup), all of Abu Dhabi's money isn't going to City, all of the money all owners have isn't going to their clubs.
Its achillies paradox and it comes out the same in the end. They have more money available to be put in by their owners than other clubs have to be put in by theirs.
KLD's not going to spend his families fortunes on us alone even in a best case scenario.
At the moment PIF are being prudent - they are actually not cash rich and most wealth is tied up in investments. For example the bulk is in Saudi's stocks and if they sold these the market would collapse. They are not poor by any means but the richest club thing is bollocks.

Who’s going to pay big money for Dubravka, he’s absolutely shite

A history of bad owners? Hahahaha f***ing hell aye Sir John Hall outspending most of Europe in a desperate bid to win something was a shocking owner those poor souls then Mike Ashley keeping them in the premier league and debt free whilst most other clubs are millions in debt.

"We have our club back" how? They are owned by the Saudis. It's not like Ant and Dec are chairmen.

True.

But I don't see anyone else in that squad getting much? Too early to sell Bruno, Joelinton?

You'd get nothing for Shelvey/Wilson because of his age. Longstaff x2, Lascelles, Willock? Not going to get much for them.

Goal been partially achieved with this thick headed fanbase and the pound sign media . As with LIV golf, boxing and F1 .

Only another few beheadings away from the folk with morals to push back at them. Or another handshake with Putin.

Not that the thick heads would be turned now like. They're washed fully. Just not with soap.

Like I said yesterday they are one wrong murder away from their precious owners having to sell up.

The comments man 🤣. deludamol is in high demand on tyneside (and probably Durham)

Interesting data on social media followers....... this will be what the EPL uses to determine fair value.
