Aye the North East is nice and stuff and has a canny bridge as many Mags fans point out when they hoy up nice pictures of Tyne Bridge and bits of Gateshead thinking this will attract multi millionaire players. The players in demand by top teams will always be looking at London/Manchester player locations also and given the already obscene wages they can get then the Mags would have to pay the premium to get them up here like they are now. It's possible to do this now to attract some players but this isn't sustainable long term. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mags have a base elsewhere in the country as it will certainly help attract players but not have to pay the location premium.

Again the mag fans need to realise it's not the 90's when players came up here on £10,000's a week. It's all relative and back even average players weren't already on obscene wages like they are now but the increase could still be tempting to some. Offering a player £120k a week (£6m a year) instead of the £100k a week (£5m a year) isn't as big a jump in lifestyle compared to difference it could make back in the 90's. I can't be arsed to look at what players the Mags brought in on silly wages but Ravanelli to Boro for £42k a week is an example. He was getting 6 times what Juventus were paying him and nearly twice what Everton offered. Boro could do this, as could Newcastle and Blackburn due to the initial growth of the Premier League being faster than the wages/fees of the time.

The growth in revenue now for all teams is nowt like it was when the Premier League blossomed and even teams like Boro had money to burn. Decent players won't be able to double/triple or even more their wages by coming to the North East and there's also the FPP etc stopping owners from just throwing money at it like they could in the 90's/early 2000's. Aye they got Trippier to come but he's on well over £100k a week ain't he and Atletico Madrid got another £12m due to them staying up and he probably got a bonus himself.

They've done the same with other players and most recently Botman and it will be wages and bonuses that will have got him as Milan didn't want the piss taken out of them or pay stupidly over the market price. The question is just how many players can the Mags bring in on these inflated wages/fees/bonuses? They can't just keep going out and outbidding other teams to players as FPP would soon stop them even if they did fiddle it with sponsorship.

Aye, it's shite for us SAFC watching the Mags dream about bringing back the 90's glory days but it's not the 90's any more and it's literally a different ball game now. If they don't get any success in the coming seasons or even fail to get into Europe to help pay these wages/fees/bonuses then they could well end up in a right mess.

If you're talking about me I'll have you know I'm lean and clean. I've also been registered on here for ages but I usually get banned from NUFC threads for providing an NUFC supporter's perspective. Can't imagine why.
You won't get banned for simply providing an NUFC supporter's perspective.

You will however have a very limited shelf life on here if your main aim is just to take the piss.

Have a nice day.

I don’t understand how it’s once in a lifetime…?
They know fine well it was nowhere newr 33,000 people. They have to lie and make them out to be something they are not. Only got demand for tickets now because their fans think they are signing Neymar and other top players. Deluded world of RTG twitter is a fat virgin.

‘There is a reality to be faced on that front: the reborn Newcastle United have already outgrown their premises. We need look no further than the ‘at least’ 33,000 people who queued online for a handful of season tickets this week for proof of that.’
Because it goes against the comfort blanket patter you lot pass back and forth.
You’re not even a proper mag you’re from Gateshead you plastic wannabe Geordie. Almost as bad as a Durham mag. Get a life you smelly fucker

Well fuck off then if you can’t take it
I can. I was saying that I get banned from these threads for giving a dissenting view.

I've been locked out of every NUFC thread since I registered, without any explanation. I know now though. Banned for taking the piss FFS, bit fragile lads?
